Recap:

"Heyy! Hey wait! Stop!"

She started walking even faster.

"Damn, you're fast! Stop, just wait a minute!"

This could not be happening. She willed her legs to go even faster.

"Come on, I just want to talk!"

She heard his pounding footsteps from behind, but continued to focus on her exit. Only ten more steps...

She reached the door at the end of the hallway, hand coming into contact with the silver knob. Just as she was beginning to pull it open, a large hand reached past her head and slammed it shut. His shoulder brushed against hers as he leaned forward—she smelled a mixture of cologne and sweat.

"Where are you off to in such a hurry?"

When she turned around, he was alone.

Oliver held her breath as she looked up, face nearly inches from his own. Their eyes locked for a second too long, and she dropped her gaze to his dark-red gucci slippers. There was an awkward moment of silence as they stood motionless, Logan's arm still blocking her exit. She considered trying to turn around and shove open the door, but from the looks of his biceps, she doubted she would stand any chance of escape...

Logan chuckled, breaking the silence.

"You don't say much, do you?"

Her face burned in embarrassment as she met his gaze.

God, his eyes were so blue. They were distracting her. Get a grip Oliver! She figured the best way to go was pretend like she didn't know him and just get the hell out of there.

"Look, I don't even know you, and I'm actually trying to get to class right now, so if you could just move your arm,"

she paused for emphasis,

"that'd be great."

His smile widened into a goofy grin, and he shook his head as he laughed, locks of hair bouncing to the front of his forehead.

"OHHH HOOO! So you're sassy then. All the cute ones always are."

Cute?

He leaned in closer, voice smooth as sin.

"You gonna tell me your name?"

She gulped, mouth suddenly dry as the Sahara.

"...Oliver."

"Oliver." He grinned, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Isn't that a boy's name?"

She glared at him, folding her arms across her chest.

"Obviously not, since I'm not a—"

"Relax, relax! I'm just kidding..." He winked. "I like it."

She flushed tomato red, and shot him a fiercer look, trying not to think about how he was still shirtless...

"Look, I'm actually going to be late if you seriously don't let me leave."

His smile only grew wider as she finished.

God, what was his deal?

She glanced down at the watch on her wrist:

9:45 A.M.

Damn.

She really was going to be late to her 10 AM if this jerk didn't move out of the way. She already had 2 absences, and if she was late for a 3rd time, her grade was in jeopardy of being dropped...

"Dude, I'm not kidding, let me go—"

He kept his arm firmly on the door, leaning in closer—so close, his warm breath tickled her face.

"My name is Logan, by the way. I'm your new neighbor."

"Ok, Logan, new neighbor, can you let me get to class now?"

He paused, rubbing his chin in thought.

"Why don't I just give you a ride?"

Oh my god.

"Umm...."

He grinned.

"My car's pretty sick."

Trust me, I know...

"I'd rather walk, thanks."

"Yo, just chill! It'll be so much faster, the Yeti is super lit."

Yes. Yes. YES.

"I don't know, I'm a pretty fast walker."

His laughter reverberated throughout the hallway, echoing off of the stucco walls.

"You don't give up, do you?"

Just say yes you idiot.

She crossed her arms firmly.

"That's right."

He raised his arms in defeat.

"Fine, have it your way."

He gave her one last wink, then turned back around, walking down the opposite end of the hallway.

Holy hell.

She pushed the door open, checking the time again on her watch: 9:50 A.M.

Dammit!

Even when she was rushing, the walk took at least 15 minutes.

She paused in the hallway, weighing her options.

Did she really want to drop her grade just for some stupid tardy?

There was always the ride...

Before she could think about it too much, she turned back around,

"Logan!"

He paused mid-way down the hall, turning to face her with a beaming smile.

"Yeah?"

Her heart skipped a beat.

"I'll take the ride."
