Assassin's Creed Syndicate- Jacob Frye X Reader [5] (1)

As if on cue (and you made sure it was), you pushed him back with a surprising amount of force and came down on him like a storm. You began striking one after another, pushing Jacob backwards until he tripped himself up on a small rock, stumbling over his feet. He accidentally fell to the floor with a groan, battling hard to stop you from pinning him to the ground with your sword.

This was your favourite.

You kept eye contact with him as his back came down slowly to the dirt, but there was one thing annoying you. He kept looking behind you. Curiosity getting the better of you, you turned to look for a second, but a second was all it took for Jacob to hook his foot around your ankle to send you falling to the floor too.

"Rule number two," he pinned you with his hands against your wrists and knees tightly hugging your torso. "Never take your eyes off your opponent." Another blush dusted your cheeks once you realised how close the two of you were. It strangely took longer for Jacob to realise, but you noticed how his eyes abruptly stopped scanning your face, seemingly satisfied, before crawling off of you.

As he stood up and offered his hand (like a true gentleman, some would say), you instead rolled back and did a kip up, blowing Jacob's mind, although he didn't show it openly. "Impressive, love," he smirked. "Are you ready for the finale?"
"Bring it on," you grinned.

"I'm going to count to thirty, and you have to hide. It's my job to find you, but you can't leave the stronghold boundaries."
"So, hide and seek?" You couldn't fight the slight laugh coming up your throat.
"Almost, except I'm allowed to watch you hide."

"Fine."

"One, two, three..." You wasted no time in scrambling off, scaling up a wall and through an open window. You walked down the stairs and out the door, turning down the side of the building you came from and behind some storage boxes. There were holes small enough so you could see Jacob looking around, still counting.

"Twenty-nine, thirty! You better be hiding well, Y/N/N!" He took off in a direction similar to your own, and you decided to travel for a while by rooftop to see where Jacob would go.

You crouched on the roof beside him, keeping cover behind every chimney you'd come across. Once or twice he looked your way, but you kept yourself hidden each time, hoping it would be enough.

At one point, he came towards the building you were standing on. Quickly, you scaled down whilst he reached the top. You lightly landed inside through the window on the top floor as he came to gather his bearings.

You crept down the stairs as quietly as you could, double checking before you made your way behind another building, concealed by the shadows.

You took cover behind another set of boxes just as Jacob landed in front of you. Holding your breath, you watched as he walked further into the clearing (away from you), scanning the area around him. "I thought for sure she was up there..."

Unfortunately, his thoughts were interrupted by someone crashing into him; a small boy of around six. And he was wearing Rook colours.

"Quickly, Pa!" The boy harshly tugged at Jacob's hand, panic and distress throughly drenching his tone.

(Until young Rooks become old enough, all adults are Ma's, Pa's, Aunts and Uncles, unless stated otherwise.)

"They're coming!" He started dragging a half jogging/half stumbling Jacob around the corner, the opposite direction to where he came.
"Who, mate? Who's coming?"

His answer was given when a small hoard of Blighters blocked his path. "We are."

Jacob, realising that they had caught him without any weapons, scooped the young boy up and cradled him to his chest, sprinting to another alley to hopefully escape the emerging threat.
