Edward had no idea how he could say anything. His mind was so conflicted he had trouble deciding which approach would be best, if any.
When he realised what Y/N had done to him, he began to wonder if she felt the same. Whether she felt the butterflies in her stomach, or the sudden heat wave washing over her just as much as Edward himself.
One day, he decided to tell her. Just a few words, he told himself, and it would be done. Needless to say, he was terrified himself. So as he picked up his mobile phone with a great doubt forming in his mind, you could hardly blame him.

Your phone buzzed in your pocket. "Hello?" You answered simply.
"Hey, Y/N," a welsh accent flooded your ear.
"Edward! Hi!" All of a sudden you felt your cheeks flush. Lucky he wasn't here to see that.
"Listen, I was wondering if you would like to come out to the park with me?" He asked.
Your eyebrows raised in surprise. "Like– like a date?" Somewhere in our voice sounded hopeful, which you hoped Edward didn't catch.
"What? No, no... I mean... uh... do-do you want it to be?"
Awkward silence.
"Uh, why don't we see how it goes. Sorry for bringing it up. I'll, uh, meet you there in ten minutes." And with that, you finished the call.
"Why the hell did I say that?" You cringed. Of course it wouldn't be a date! You'd be crazy to think that.

You sat down on a bench near the entrance of the park, enjoying the gentle breeze and the chirping of the birds. As you spotted Edward coming down the path, you instinctively sat up straighter, waving to him until he spotted you. When he did, he jogged over and sat down next to you.
"Hey!" You greeted happily. "How's the holiday going?"
"They're alright, thanks. What about you, lass?" He leaned back into the bench with a smile, an arm around the backrest.
"It's going pretty well, actually. But then when we get back, we've got that exam in History. I don't know anything about Pirates! It's the first lesson back too!" You realised that you were venting to him, and you apologised.
"Don't be," Edward brushed it off. "I know a thing or two about Pirates. Why don't you come over to mine tomorrow and we can study for it?"
The suggestion was contemplated.
"Alright then," you gave in. "I'll see you then!"
"Great!" Edward beamed. "Um, listen, Y/N..." His face suddenly became nervous, perhaps even serious. "I, uh... um, want to, er..." His cheeks began to blaze. You looked at him, giving your full attention. As he fiddled with his thumbs, he suddenly looked up, seemingly calmer. "You know what? It doesn't matter. Could you come over to mine at around three?"
You could barely nod your head in agreement before he abruptly stood up and walked away.
