12:32 PM | April 9th

"I want Squad 15 to get those children out of the high school, now!" Rico yells. The squad follows their orders and rush to the school.

"Eld and Gunther, I need you two to look for the shooter with me. Petra and Oluo, I need you to help Squad 15 get those brats out," Levi orders in a calm manner. The squad and I nod and say, "Yes, sir!"

Eld, Gunther, and Levi run into the school with Oluo and me. We part ways once we enter, Captain and his group run to the halls and we rush to the classrooms. "Let's go, Petra," Oluo says, tightening his grip on his pistol. I do the same and nod.

We rush to a classroom and find no one. Oluo looks at me and points to the door. "Wait," I say.

"Hey. I know you teens are in here. Come out if you want to leave safely," I say sternly but calmly. Oluo makes a face at me and I roll my eyes. Then I hear it. Gunshots.

"AAH!" a kid screams.

I turn around and see a kid with blonde hair and blue eyes come from behind a bookshelf. "Are there anymore of you kids here?" Oluo asks, looking at the boy. The boy nods, tears rushing down his face. Another kid with brown hair and green eyes runs to us. He looks German. "Give me something! I can kill the shooting bastard!" he exclaims.

"Eren," a girl with black hair and black eyes says calmly. She wears a scarf around her neck, clutching onto it. The girl slowly walks to us and stares at Eren.

"We have to get you out of here. Now come on," I say, pushing the three out of the classroom.

"Let me help!" Eren exclaims. I sigh and look at Oluo. Oluo nods and grabs the brunette by the wrist and drags him out of the school.

"Hey! Wait!" he shouts. "Eren!" the girl calls, reaching a hand out. "Don't worry," I say. The girl glares at me. "Oluo is taking him out of the school to safety. I'll be taking you two."

"Tch." The blonde boy looks at the girl and takes her hand in his. "Mikasa," the boy starts. "Armin." Mikasa looks at the boy. "Let's just get out of here." Armin looks at me, his eyes still watery. I give him a pleased smile and take the two out of the school.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"More gunshots," I mutter to myself. We are getting close to the exit, a few bodies laid against the wall. The gunshots get closer and closer. I turn around and see a young man holding a pistol. He definitely isn't an officer. I widen my eyes and push the two out of the school as the man aims his pistol at me. Armin grabs Mikasa's arm and runs out of the school with her.

"RUN!" I yell. I turn my head to look at the shooter and see him shoot at me. Behind him is my captain, Levi. He has his pistol and points at the shooter. He's aiming for his shoulder. The shooter's bullet is just feet away from me. I widen my eyes and try to run, but it's too late. I feel the bullet hit me on my right forearm.

"PETRA!" I hear Levi yell. I fall to the ground and Levi runs to me. Eld and Gunther have the shooter in their arms, putting handcuffs on him. The shooter's gun is on the ground.

"Eld," Levi says. "Yes, Captain?" Eld asks.

"I need you to take the shooter to Hanji. When you're done, check on Oluo and those kids."

"Yes, sir." Gunther lets Eld take the shooter away and walks to Levi and me. Levi looks at me in the eyes and says, "Don't pass out. You won't die, okay, officer?" I try and nod.

"Don't move, Petra. Let Captain and I take care of you," Gunther says. I'm about to say something, but I stop myself. Levi puts one of his arms under my back and his other under my knees. He gets up and picks me up bridal style. Gunther is behind us, looking around for any signs of danger. I close my eyes and let Levi bring me out. We reach light and I hear a familiar voice call my name. I open my eyes.

"Petra!" Rico shouts, running to Levi. "We need to get you to the hospital!" Rico looks worried as hell.

"There is one a few blocks away. I'll drive her there with the car," Levi says.

"Let me go with you. I need to know how she is so that I can inform her father," Rico says.

"You can come."

"Thank you, Levi. Really."

1:09 PM Thursday, April 9th

"Petra. Oh, God. I know you're alive, but you make me worry about you, darling," Father says. That's the first thing I hear when I wake up. "Father?" I call. Father smiles and chuckles. "Hey, Petra."

"Am I going to be off for a while?" I ask. Levi steps by the hospital bed. He was here all along.

"You'll be off for about four to five weeks. It's a minor injury, but I'm giving you an extra few weeks to rest. When I was carrying you, you got so much blood on my hands. I looked filthy. Tch," Levi says with his usual stoic expression. I give him a smile anyways. I was probably a pest to him. Levi makes a face at me. I'm not sure if he's shocked or mad.

"Are those students okay?" I ask. Levi nods and crosses his arms.

"That's good. Is that German boy good? He kept shouting at Oluo and I because he wanted to shoot the criminal." I chuckle.

"That brat with brown hair and green eyes? He was a handful for Oluo, but scarf girl calmed him down. The only cooperative brat was the Blondie," Levi says in an annoyed tone. Levi then looks at the clock and turns to me and my father.

"I have to go, Petra. Take care of yourself, okay?" Levi says softly. I can hear a hint of emotion in his words.

"Alright, Captain. See you in five weeks!" I say cheerfully. Levi nods and shakes Father's hand.

"It was a pleasure meeting you, sir."

"It was. I'd like to see you again, Levi-san," Father says with his calming smile. Levi waves goodbye and leaves.

"He's a handsome lad. He'd make a fine husband for my Petra," Father says with a chuckle.

I blush a crimson red. "Father!"
