Childhood. The best part of Y/N's life. The reason? The impact of the small yet sweet interaction between her and a boy she thought she liked.

+ FLASHBACK +

Little Y/N was at the park with her mother
to fly her kite.

The kite meant a lot to her and it was like a remembrance of her father; it was indeed a memorable remembrance.

She ran around the windy park whilst holding onto her kite and the cold breeze of the wind blowing the hair behind her.

She accidentally tripped but was still holding onto her kite's string.

The little girl was a brave one and she barely cried when she tripped.

She stood up and dusted off any dirt from her dress with her left hand and when she looked up at her kite, she saw another kite entangled with hers. Her head tilts slightly to the side, confused yet curious as to how it happened.

Little Y/N then went to follow the other kite and then saw a boy probably a year older than her.

She looked at him as he tried to pull his kite away from the other one.

"Uhm.. I'll help." The 5 year old girl said.

The boy looked at her then looked around to see if she was talking to anyone else and he looked back at her and nodded, awkwardly.

She then walked towards him as they both pulled at their kites until it landed on the ground.

They then both started to try and untangle the strings of the kite together. Their hands occasionally brushing against each others' and their heads lightly bumping against each other; it was not a big deal as they just laughed it off.

After a few minutes of trying to separate both kites, they stood up and fixed their kites until it was in a better condition.

The boy looked at her and smiled

"Thank you!" He said and held out his hand.
The little girl smiled back, gladly holding his hand and shaking it.

They both stayed like that for a while, holding each others hand as the cold breeze blew their hair.

The soft smiles on their faces didn't disappear until she suddenly heard an older adult calling her name.

She looked back to see her mom when she then heard another deep-voiced adult calling his child. The boy looked at his father and ran to him.

As Y/N's mom was pulling her hand and the boy's supposed dad pulling his, the two kids tried to reach for each other but couldn't.

'Maybe next time, we'll meet again.' Both the innocent girl and young boy thought as they were held by their parents.

A soft smile plastered on their faces as they left the park with hopes of seeing the other once again.
