The Pine Tree

Finally, Nova was moving back to town. She hated the small town she lived in, but she loved the idea of hearing Soul's voice. Nova longed to finally hear the voice of the man she had fallen in love with. The few words they had actually said to each other were not enough to fully know how their voices sounded. So, she woke up early the morning after her move and smiled. "Today is the day" she mumbled to herself as she rolled off the twin size mattress that was laying on a cold concrete floor. She went into her bathroom and out on eyeliner, concealer, and mascara. She knew he wouldn't come, but she was still hopeful. 

As hopefully as she was, she refused to get dressed knowing he was just trying to make her happy and he would never actually show up. So, after she did her makeup Nova went to go lay down. Suddenly, she heard her dog barking. Then, her uncle started yelling. "SHUT THE HELL UP DOG!" He yelled as he opened the door. "Ova, there's someone here for you!" he called. 

Nova's eyes lit up as she ran to the door. Suddenly, she tumbled over. Soul, the boy she loved, was standing in her doorway. Nova marched outside and whispered, "H-Hi Soul..." Her uncle interrupted her. "You two can either come inside or go to the backyard, but no PDA in the front yard." Nova hugged Soul and snuggled into his chest. "Aww, isn't that cute? You two kids go into the back, okay?" He said and marched away. Nova, who was in shorts, a tank top, and barefoot fumbled to avoid the small pebbles that made up her driveway. Soul smiled at her and took her by the hand, helping her balance and led her to the gate. 

The two teenagers went into the back yard and sat on a small hill, just under a pine tree. For the first time, Soul spoke. "H-Hi Nova." Soul went to take her hand, but Nova jumped up. "OH MY FUCKING GOD YOUR VOICE!" "Shut up" Soul blushed. "I hate my voice..." Nova frowned at him. "Why? It's amazing." "I don't think so." "Well, I do." Nova sat down and started at Soul. She wasn't trying to stare, but he was too perfect not to stare at. He was everything Nova dreamed of. Soul notices she was staring and smiled. "N-Nova..." He stuttered. "Yes?" Just then he leaned over and kissed her. Nova had never kissed a man before, and his lips were different then the girls' she had kissed. His lips were thin and soft. It was like kissing a cloud. Once he pulled away she turned bright red. He smiled and kissed her again. Soul couldn't stop kissing her. He normal was too scared to move this quickly, but he knew Nova was different.  There was something special about her. He didn't know what, but something about the small little Emo Geek made him felt safe. And more importantly, the most important emotion that anyone could have for another person.
