Song for this chapter

"What's your dress look like?" Ridge asks he lays on my bed.

I laugh, "I already told you that I am not going to show you. Stop asking."

He groans, "Bu-"

"Ridge, you heard me," I say, sitting beside him.

Ridge wraps his arms around my waist. "Yeah, yeah, I know." It is silent between us for a moment before he whispers, "I love you."

I intake a breath. I haven't gotten used to hearing it. Then, before I can stop it, I say, "I think I love you, too."

Ridge tenses. "Really?" he asks.

After a moment of thinking, I nod. "Yes," I reply, looking at him.

"You didn't have to say it, you know," he whispers, his eyes twinkling.

"Well, I did," I reply, "and I'm not taking it back."

Ridge leans in, gently kissing my lips. Then, he pulls away. "You are amazing, you know that?"

I roll my eyes. "Yeah, right."

He gets off the bed, grabbing my hand. "Really, and I want to show you how amazing you are. Get dressed, and I'll be back in two hours."

I furrow my eyebrows. "Where are you going?" I ask.

"You'll see. Wear something fancy," he says then pecks my lips. Then, he hurries out my door before I can say anything else.

Wear something fancy.

So, I call Emma, and she picks up on the first ring. "I need your help," I say.

"For what?"

"I think I have a date."

Her tone turns serious. "I'll be there in ten."

About forty-five minutes later, I groan, throwing myself onto the bed. "I only have an hour left, and I can't find anything!"

Emma throws herself beside me. "I've tried. My powers are running out, Brae. Do you know any other fashionable people?" she asks.

I cover my face with a pillow, shaking my head. "No," I say, but it's muffled. All of the sudden there's a knock on my door. "Come in!"

"I heard you had a date," a familiar voice asks.

I throw the pillow off my face, sitting up quickly. Oliver stands by the door frame with a smug look on his face. Emma looks at me. "I think we found our fashionable person. Who is he?"

"Oliver, ma'am. I'm fashionable and gay," he says, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Are you serious?" Emma asks, sounding surprise, "You are way too hot to be gay."

"I know, it's a shocker I'm still single," Oliver replies, making me snort. Then, he claps his hands together. "But enough of that. I would've been here sooner, but traffic was pain in the butt. Anyway, in case you need help, which I'm assuming you do since you're still sitting here in weekend clothes, I'm here to help. Let's get started."

"Oliver, I love you," I say.

"Cool. I love me, too."

Emma laughs, "I like him."

Oliver laughs, flipping his hair. "Honey, you're not my type. Now, up!"

Emma and I stand, and that's when the journey begins. We rummage through my closet some more, and luckily, we find some cute black heels. However, we don't find a dress that looks fancy enough. Oliver groans, "Braelyn, is there any other closet with girl clothes?" He looks at me with a helpless look.
