Alexis's POV: When I look in the mirror a see a 14 year old girl with light brown hair, almost blonde. It's completely straight so I never have to straighten it. My skin is very pale. The first thing you notice when you look at me is my eyes. My icy blue eyes that you can easily get lost in if you're not careful. My name is Alexis Valencia.

I don't use makeup. I feel like you are trying to hide something from someone when you use makeup. It's like covering up your flaws. Everyone has flaws. But society wants the impossible. Many girls almost starve themselves to death just to be "beautiful." Starvation is not beautiful. You don't want to look like a skeleton, believe me. I think being different is beautiful.

(Wednesday) I kept losing weight. But there was no explanation... I started to feel more and more tired everyday. I started to lose my appetite. I was barely eating anything and I slept most of the day. My mom started to notice and she decided to take me to the hospital. When we arrived in the hospital there were so many people... elders, adults, teens, toddlers and newborns. We went to a waiting room. The walls were white. Almost everything was white and it smelled weird. We sat down on an empty couch. The couch was turquoise.

I was scared. I took my mother's hand in mine. I didn't care if I was 14 years old.

"Mom... wi-will I be okay?" I bit my lip trying not to start crying.

"Honey, you'll be fine." She held me close. It made me feel better. Finally the doctor came. They ran a bunch of tests on me. I didn't like it. Not at all. I just wanted to go home... When they were done with all the tests they told us to come back in a few days. So we went home again.

We got back into the car. I always sit in the front seat. My mom looked at me. She looked so worried and scared. I saw that she was trying to hide it, but it wasn't working anymore. I looked away. She started the car. I didn't say a word during that car ride. When we got home I went to my room. There was a desk with pens all over it and a bunch of drawings I never finished. I put the drawings away. I was really tired but I didn't care anymore. I started all over again on a new paper. I started drawing a girl in a pastel blue dress. Her hair was black and curly. I started drawing the eyes. I made them emerald green. I turned out better than I thought it would. I put it in my desk. Suddenly my phone vibrated. I picked it up from my nightstand.

"Incoming call from unknown number"

What? Who could that be? No one ever calls me since I have no friends. Someone probably just called the wrong number. I hung up. They didn't call back.

(Thursday) Alexis's POV: The next morning my mom woke me up.

"Good morning, honey." Her voice was soft and calm.

Oh, right... it's Thursday. I have to go to school. I got up and I had a quick shower. I went back into my room. What was I going to wear? Would anyone even care? Nah.. I opened the wardrobe and put on a gray hoodie and a pair of jeans. Mom knocked on my door.

"I made you breakfast." She smiled at me. I smiled back. It would be rude to not eat when she cooked me food. But I wasn't hungry at all. I decided to eat anyway. I walked into the kitchen. There was a plate of scrambled eggs on the table, waiting for me. I slowly started eating.

When I finally got to school I saw this girl... she was talking to a teacher. I couldn't see her face. Her hair was brown and curly. I heard her talking but I didn't know what she was saying. Her voice sounded so soft and sweet. I entered the school building. I looked down while I was walking trough the hallway. I felt like everyone was staring at me. I accidentally walked into a student. He stared at me.

"I'm so sorry!!" I covered my mouth with my hand.

"You better watch your ass!" He looked at me like he was going to hit me anytime.

"I didn't mea-" I got interrupted by his yelling.

"I don't wanna hear your stupid excuses, now get the hell away from me!" He shoved me into a locker and then walked away. I finally managed to get to the classroom, ignoring all the people staring and laughing at me. There she was. She sat at the bench at the front. I could now she her face. She was so gorgeous... I couldn't take my eyes of her. She had big brown eyes and long black eyelashes. She wasn't wearing any makeup, still she looked amazing. The teacher entered the room.

"Good morning class! Today we have a new student in our class. Why don't you tell us something about yourself, Jolene?" So that's her name? Jolene... Everything about that girl was beautiful. She got up from her bench and stood up. I noticed she was blushing slighly.

"Umm... I'm J-jolene Hamilton. I just moved here from.. another city. I like drawing and singing." She looked down at her feet. She was so cute but she looked so scared.  I just wanted to give her a big warm hug. She sat down at her bench again. The teacher started talking and I couldn't hear a word because all I could concentrate on was Jolene. When school was over I wanted to talk to her. I wanted to make sure she was okay. She seemed so scared earlier. Maybe this was my chance to get a friend. Too bad I'm shy and akward.

That night I had a nightmare. I dreamed about that girl, Jolene. She was sitting in the corner of a big, black room. I heard her crying. I walked over to her.

"Jolene." She didn't react.

"JOLENE!" She finally looked up. Her eyes were completely black. I screamed. She was crying. But instead of tears, blood was pouring out of her eyes. She slowly opened her mouth.

"Help me."

"How?!" I was terrified but I still wanted to help her.

"Kill them." Then she faded away.
