Starting Over

Chapter 29

We are landing in Sydney Australia today. I am so excited to be back here. When I was a kid my family and I visited some of my relatives who live down here but I haven't made it back since then. Harry said I need to contact my cousin because he has some interviews to do and will be busy for a few days. It is sweet that he doesn't want me to get bored. Harry actually had to go off to an interview as soon as we landed and sent off to the hotel on my own.

Once I arrived at the hotel and got to the room I was speechless. The room was like a penthouse. There were four bedrooms not the normal two we normally have. I was a little confused but I just figured maybe a couple of the other guys will be staying with us as well. I went ahead and got settled in a room since we will be in Sydney for an entire week.
I was just relaxing in the sitting room watching some golf when I heard the door opening up. Harry came walking in with a big smile on his face. I asked "so I take it the interview went well". He replied with a nod as he walked over to the sofa and pulled out a blindfold and started putting it on me. I batted it away and looked at Harry. Who by the way was now wearing a smirk and not a smile. Harry just said "Niall if you want to see your surprise you need to let me put this on you". I just sat there and let him blindfold me. Once he was finished he told me to stay on sofa. So I just sat there for a few minutes before I heard Harry walk behind me. He took off my blindfold and shouted surprise at the same time.

I just sat there speechless for a moment. I blinked my eyes a couple times to make sure I wasn't seeing thing but I knew I wasn't the moment I felt a set of arms wrapping around me and I hugged back breathing in the smell of home. Harry's surprise was my parents. He flew my parents all the down here just so I could spend a few days with them. That boy is something else.
I had the best time with my parents. We just sat around and caught up for the first day. Harry was pretty busy promoting his album and tour so it was just me and my parents for the most part. One day we met up our relatives who lived outside of Sydney. Rest of the time we went sight seeing and just enjoyed the beautiful country of Australia. They attended one of Harry's concerts also and they just loved it. Harry was able to join us for a few dinners which was very nice. He was so comfortable with my parents just as they were with him. If I didn't know any better I would of thought they had known each other for years. It was embarrassing at times because my parents told Harry funny stories about my childhood. I hated saying goodbye to my parents but I would actually get to see them in about a month. That is when we have a six week break before we start the U.S. leg of the tour.

So we are finally in Australia and I had to send Niall off to the hotel on his own. I made him think I had an interview to do, but I actually was meeting his parents plane. I have been planning this with Bobby and Maura for the past couple weeks. I know Niall was getting a little homesick even though he would never admit it.

I got Bobby and Maura back to the hotel and had them wait in the hallway. I went on in because I had to blindfold Niall so I could give him his surprise. Once his eyes were covered I brought in his parents and stood them in front of him. Then I went and stood behind Niall so I could remove the blindfold and yell SURPRISE. Niall was speechless but the look on his face and the way he hugged his mom was so worth all the effort I put into this for him.

Niall spent the next few days with his parents which was prefect since I was booked up with interviews. I was actually relieved knowing Niall was having a great time since I wasn't able to be with him.

Even though I was busy with promoting my album I still managed to squeeze in a couple dinners with Niall,Bobby and Maura   I so enjoyed these dinners because I got to hear cute stories about Niall. Niall's childhood sounded wonderful. The best part is I was invited to the Horan house back in Ireland during our break. Maura promised to show me baby pictures of Niall.

I think this has been my best surprise by far. Not only for Niall but for myself also. Just knowing I helped put that smile on Niall's face is enough of a gift for me. I also got to learn more about what Niall was like growing up. Niall's parents are just wonderful and I really can't wait to spend me time with them in their own home. Now I am really looking forward to the upcoming break. Mainly because I have an excuse to spend some of the six weeks with Niall.
