GREAT EXPECTATIONS

Alison's POV

Ever since the shooting at school I can't get Emily off of my mind.

Truthfully she's always been on my mind but now other than Arin she's the first person I think of when I wake up and the last person before I close my eyes.

As I lie in my bed I feel little fingers grip onto my shirt.

I look over to my left to see Arin still asleep with his other hand in his diaper.

He clearly inherited that from Noel.

I leave him sleep for a bit as I get up to brush my teeth.

While brushing, my phone starts to ring.

-HEY ALI Emily says. AM I COMING TO YOUR HOUSE FOR THIS PROJECT OR? she questions.

-UH YEAH IT'LL PROBABLY BE BETTER IF I CAME TO YOUR HOUSE I say to her. IS IT OK IF I BRING ARIN?

-YEAH Emily excitedly says. BRING HIM, I'D LOVE TO SEE HIM AGAIN.

-COOL WE'LL BE THERE IN TWENTY I blush, hanging up the phone.

Walking back into my bedroom I see Arin sitting up on the bed.

-DA DA DA Arin gurgles.

-NO I say. YOU DON'T HAVE ONE OF THOSE.

I pick him up and take him into the bathroom for our bath.

While washing the both of us I blow bubbles at Arin making him laugh.

-MOMMY'S NOT GONNA BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU HER FULL ATTENTION TODAY I tell him and he starts to cry.

-DON'T CRY BABY I say. I JUST HAVE TO FINISH A PROJECT AND WE GET TO SEE EMILY I quip.

All of a sudden Arin stops crying and smiles a little as if he understands what I'm saying.

Once We're all washed we head downstairs to see my brother Jason.

-HEY JASE I say walking down the stairs with Arin in my arms.

-IS MY LITTLE MAN LEAVING ME? Jason questions Arin like he'll respond.

-YEAH WE'RE GOING TO EMILY'S BUT WE'LL BE BACK BEFORE DINNER I tell him.

-ALRIGHT my brother says. BE CAREFUL Jason adds kissing both mines and Arin's forehead.

I smile and walk out, getting into my car.

Once I came back and Jason found out about Arin he's been really nice to me.

Like a big brother should be.

I can actually get used to it.

At least Arin will have a man in his life to teach him right from wrong and that'll love him as much as I do.

On our way over to Emily's I make a quick trip to go see CeCe.

Surprisingly when I get there she isn't alone, she's with Hanna.

-SO THIS IS THE LITTLE CUTIE EMILY KEEPS TALKING ABOUT Hanna says pinching his little leg.

-EMILY TALKS ABOUT HIM? I question trying to hide my flushed cheeks.

-ALL THE TIME she admits. IT'S ALWAYS ARIN THIS AND ALISON THAT I CANT STA...

-SHUT UP HANNA CeCe grits out nudging her arm.

I laugh as Arin squirms in my arms.

-YOU CAN'T CRAWL OUT HERE BABY I say to my son.

Hanna takes Arin from me as I talk to CeCe alone.
