One of the Pious said: "How strange are the people who weep over the one whose body has died, but do not weep over the one whose heart has died, while that (the death of the heart) is far worse!"
So therefore all acts of obedience to Allah are obligatory in order to ensure the life of the heart - and we specify from these: *Dhikr* (Rememberance of Allah) - due to the dire necessity of the heart of the slave for it, and severe need towards it - The Remembrance of Allah عز و جل, the Recitation of the Qur'an, Seeking forgiveness in Allah, Supplication (Du'aa), Sending Salutations upon the Prophet (peace and blessing see upon him), and the Night Prayer.
