There are many different people from all over the world who like going barefoot. Some people like doing it as a hobby. On the other hand, other people who go barefoot as a tradition or as a part of their culture. Apparently, there are many who like going barefoot are unable to share their stories. So, I do plan to make this be a long interviewing series while talking to people who are from all over and let them speak about their barefooting. So, welcome the newest barefoot interviewee, Kaitlyn. She is (currently) a 16-year-old Year 12 student who is both born and resides in Sydney, Australia. Here is what Kaitlyn had to say about what she likes about being barefoot.

What inspired you to go barefoot?

I don't like wearing socks and shoes often because they feel...weird. They make my feet too hot for me to be comfortable so if I have to wear footwear, thongs or flats will be it.

What are some reasons you like going barefoot?

I go barefoot for short walks and on the beat mainly.

Name some places you like going barefoot.

The road honestly doesn't burn my feet that much anymore. And obviously around the house. I don't wear shoes in the car either or when I'm sitting down.

Where would you like to try and go barefoot that you haven't done so?

I would like to go somewhere with really soft and lush grass, without the worries of bindis or anything hurtful.

Why do you think people should go barefoot more often, besides at home and the beach?

It kind of gives a sense of freedom for me. I think feeling things with your feet also makes you more aware of your surroundings which is a great thing.

Give us a story of a time you went barefoot and had a lot of fun doing it.

Walking to and fro from a friend's house. It wasn't that far of a distance so I didn't bother with shoes and I was walking on the sun-heated tar. I loved the feeling even after I had to veer on and off a few times because it got hot after a while.

Why do you think some stores have banned going barefoot?

Honestly, I have no idea. What's wrong with them? Is it the foot fetish people leaving inappropriate comments?

If possible, please share any of your barefooting experiences.

I went to a park and just shuffled around in the grass because I liked how it felt, it was really soft and just made me feel calm.

Since going barefoot is healthy, why do you think people deny it?

Fear of being 'dirty' and it not being appropriate. They care too much what people think of them.

What would you say to someone who thinks going barefoot is gross?

Why do you think your opinion is important?

Conclusion.

I do thank Kaitlyn for taking her time answering these questions and as well as supporting that going barefoot is actually a good and healthy thing. Tune in next time when someone else in another country talks about their likes on barefooting. Remember, speak your mind, comment down below, and happy barefooting.
