Keith(Sleep Deprived) X Reader

⚠️Hyper Keith?⚠️

You were just waking up. Well you were awake, but you went on a walk to try and keep from falling back asleep. You'd made it half way to the bridge when you heard someone yelling. "I HAVEN'T SLEPT IN EIGHT DAYS!"

You groaned, recognizing that voice. It was Keith. You jogged the rest of the way to the bridge and saw Keith standing on the control console, hands on his hips like he just said something smart. Shiro, Lance, and Pidge were trying to get him down, but he started swinging his sword at them. "Keith, just calm down, you need to rest." Shiro held his hands up, but Keith just laughed.

"I don't need sleep! I've never felt so alive!" He spotted you standing in the doorway and grinned. "(Y/N)!"

"Keith? What the heck are you doing?" He grinned and hopped off the console.

"Just getting ready for our next battle! I've been drinking the Altean equivalent of coffee for the last eight days! You always want to stay alert!" You looked at Pidge and she shrugged.

"Well I'm going back to bed." Pidge yawned. "(Y/N), you can take over."

"Me too." Lance followed, Pidge and they left you with Shiro and a hyper Keith.

"Wait, what's happening?"

"Keith, is sleep deprived." Shiro sighed, shaking his head. Keith ran over to you and wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

"Hello! How are you doing this morning?" You felt your cheeks heat up. You had a mega crush on Keith and no one knew except, Hunk, but he was off somewhere else.

You moved away from Keith, his breath smelled a whole lot like coffee, and it made you dizzy, "I'm tired, Keith."

"We need to wake you up!" He threw you over his shoulder and you helped.

"Shiro?"

"Good luck," he chuckled, waving as he walked by.

"Please don't kill me!" You prayed, making Keith laugh.

"C'mon! Let's go for a jog!" He ran out of the bridge and down the halls into the kitchen where everyone was gathered, whispering. "Hey guys how you all doing? Everyone doing good? That's diddly darn great!"

He went to the door and stopped and turned back at them. He pointed at Lance and Pidge. "I thought you two were going back to bed!"

"Uh... giddy up!" Lance yelled. Keith laughed and started sprint down the hall, with you screaming and holding onto him for dear life. He ran back to the bridge and sat you down in his piloting seat.

"Feeling awake!?" You laughed, clutching the arms.

"Never going to sleep well after this." You stood up and Keith grabbed your wrists and started spinning you around. You tried to keep up, but Keith was way more energized than you. "Keith! Slow down!"

He came to a complete stop and you had to grab onto his shoulder to keep yourself from falling. "Why did it have to be me?"

"Probably because I like you and have had a huge crush on you since I saw you, and I've always wanted to kiss you. I think I want to kiss you right now. I'm going to kiss you." He pulled you in for a quick kiss, it was short, but you never felt so alive after. "Oh my gosh! I have to go find Shiro! SHIRO!" He ran out of the room, leaving you star struck for a minute.

You came to your senses after a second and quickly ran after him. "Keith! Keith, you can't just leave after you kiss someone!" You scream as you run after him. As you ran into the hall you just barley caught a glance of him taking a hard right. You quickly sprinted after him.

You were literally an arm's length away and you grabbed him right as you two rolled into the kitchen. Literally. You ended up on top of Keith, pining him to the floor. "You can't just run away after doing that!"

"Doing what?" Hunk asked, everyone was staring at you two and it made you blush.

"I kissed (Y/N)!" Keith exclaimed, excitedly. Everyone sighed and Shiro gave him two 'ok's. You stared confused and turned to Hunk, he just grinned, and crossed his arms like a proud dad.

"Um... you're all cool with this? He KISSED me!" You exclaimed. You turned back down to him and he pushed up and kissed you again. You pushed him away and covered your face. "Stop doing that!"

"But I like you!"

"You're just high on caffeine!" You responded. You stood up and walked out of the room. You began running around the castle, taking a route that you hadn't taken in a while. You used to jog when you got stressed, but you guys started working better so the amount of jogging you needed wheat down by a mile every week.

It's not that nobody knew you liked, Keith either. Everyone except Shiro knew, but you were pretty sure someone would have blabbed to Shiro at some point. Probably Lance. You sighed and took a hard left into the training deck. You summoned your bayard. It was a pistol this time. "Start shooting training level one."

Seven target appeared and you shot the heads off of all of them. "Start level two."

You were probably on the training deck for an hour, shooting before you decided you needed more sleep. You ended the training sequence and walked back to your room, where you found the black paladin sleeping in your bed. You sneered at him and walked over and tapped him. "Keith!"

He grabbed your wrist and pulled you down onto the bed. His arms were wrapped around you waist and his legs were already tangled in the blanket and in your legs. You were both laying nose to nose and his hair tickled the side of your face. "Keith. Get out of my room."

"(Y/N)?"

"Yeah, idiot, get out." He snuggled closer to you.

"Can't I stay? I'm tired... and I couldn't sleep by myself... I had night terrors."

"About what?"

"Losing you." Your face heated up and you smiled, and wrapped your own arms around him.

"You can stay for tonight. Only tonight." You whispered. That was the last thing you remembered.

The warmth from him radiating onto you, his arms wrapped tightly around your waist, his legs tangled in your own. His hair, smelling like sweat and his snoring, making you laugh lightly. Your favorite thing was his breath against your face, he smelled slightly minty and you buried you face into his hair.

You'd never felt so at ease.
