Shiro X Reader (Pt. 6 FINAL)

By the time you made it to the castle Pidge was waiting for you at the loading dock. You got out and hugged her tightly. "Oh my god... what are you guys going to do?"

"Allura wanted us all to try taking control of the black lion... no one's been able to, not even Keith, and Shiro really wanted him to lead if anything ever happened. It's like he knew this was going to happen." You felt your eyes tear up a bit and you took. Deep breath and shook your head.

"He's out there somewhere. You can't just replace him... can you?"

"I told Allura you were coming... she wants you to try and pilot the Black Lion." You took a step back and felt your shoulders shake.

"No. I can't just... replace him." You insisted.

"Please, (Y/N)... you're our last hope!" You sighed and nodded slowly.

At the lion hangar you literally felt everyone's eyes on you as you approached the black lion. You'd never actually... seen it before, but you couldn't help but love it immediately. You walked inside and into the control center. You sat down in the seat and gently placed your hands on the controls. Immediately the lion came to life and you screamed.

You didn't even know what this meant.

As soon as you exited the lion everyone walked over to you to congratulate you, even though you were a mess and probably hallucinating a bit. Allura brought you another set of armor, in black. Just like Shiro and handed you the bayard. It immediately began to glow and it turned into a whip.

You wrapped it in a tight circle and nodded slowly. You hadn't talked to anyone about this yet. You found yourself sitting on Shiro's bed and messing with the whip, cracking it against the ceiling, making marks.

Time went on, it felt like months, maybe even a year, but you still didn't find Shiro and you were losing the battle against Lotor. You were still trying to find a way around his tricks when Keith found a floating pod on his weekly look for Shiro.

You always went with him. "(Y/N)! There's someone inside the pod!"

You moved the lion towards Keith. "I'm coming!" When you got there you immediately jumped from your lion and floated over to the pod. You cracked open the window and found Shiro sitting inside. "Keith! It's Shiro!"

You lifted him out of the seat, he was unconscious, and possibly not breathing, but you took the chance, you dragged him into the lion and ripped the mask off. You checked for a pulse... and never found one. You felt tears well in your eyes as your heart dropped. "(Y/N)?" Keith's voice rang through you helmet and you whipped away tears.

"He's dead Keith..." You turned off the communicator and stood up never looking away from Shiro's body. You began to sob and you chucked your helmet across your lion, screaming. You raked your hands through your ever growing hair and trie dot calm yourself, but it wouldn't work.

You flew back to the castle and dragged his body out of the lion and collapsed on the floor with Shiro's head laying in you lap. You ran your fingers through his greasy hair and shook you head. You heard running footstep and looked up to see the entire team at the door to the hangar.

No one moved and just watched you turn you head back to him and start crying. A minute later you felt several pairs of arms wrapped around you. Keith picked up Shiro's body and moved it away from you. You didn't even try to fight you just sat there crying, knowing that the only man you ever loved was dead.
