Who are you?

This isn't me forgetting.

I don't know the words "Min Yoongi." What do they mean?

Does (Y/n) mean anything to you?

The bell over the door dinged, and the woman and her brother entered. He followed her up to the register and frowned. "Is Youngjae working right now?"

The woman smiled at the name Youngjae and twisted a purple bracelet around her wrist.

Yoongi looked up. "No, he's not, but I can take your order."

The brother just frowned.

"I want..." The woman paused, biting her lip. "I want the..."

"Chicken noodle soup, right?" Yoongi asked, making eye contact with her.

She shook her head. "No, not that one..."

"Cream of chicken with rice?"

"No..."

"French onion?"

"No."

"Loaded potato soup?"

"No..."

"Cream of broccoli

She brightened. "Yes, that one. And..."

Yoongi hesitated. "The baguette?"

She shook her head, and the brother's frown deepened.

"Chips?"

She shook her head. "No, not that, I want..."

"She doesn't want anything on the side," the brother said, clearly impatient, and she nodded.

"All right," Yoongi said, not even looking at the brother. "Nothing on the side. Something to drink? Water?"

She shook her head.

"Lemonade? Iced Tea? Pepsi? Diet Pepsi? Sprite?"

"Sprite please," she said happily.

"All right. Anything else?"

"A sugar cookie," the brother said for her.

"A sugar cookie?" Yoongi repeated, looking at the woman as though he hadn't heard the brother.

She nodded. "Yes please!"

Yoongi rang it all up and gave them the receipt. Then he waited until the woman went to the bathroom before sitting at their table across from the brother.

He scowled at Yoongi. "What."

"I heard you need a full-time caretaker for her."

The brother's eyebrows furrowed. "Where'd you here that from?"

"Youngjae."

The brother nodded, smiling slightly at the mention of him. "Yes. My sister has a hard time remembering things, and Youngjae seems to have a really good memory, so I think it would be perfect if he could work for us."

Yoongi took a deep breath. He didn't like people, he didn't like these kinds of situations, he didn't particularly like the brother at all, but he needed to say this. "I don't think Youngjae can. He's busy. But I'm not." Yoongi swallowed. "I want the job."

The brother frowned. "But you don't have a very good memory at all. You got everything wrong on her order."

"Because I haven't taken her order before. But you're right. I don't have a perfect memory. But I'm a hard worker. And I'm willing to work full-time." Yoongi didn't know what else to say to market himself. Considering this was basically an interview, he didn't think he was doing very well. "I can be patient," he added. Maybe that was a lie. Sure, he was patient - to get out of bed. But he felt something for the woman, a sympathy of some sort, and seeing her remember even little things made him happy. Happiness was something he had a hard time with.

The brother just sat there quietly. "Give me your number. I'll talk it over with our family, and I'll call you if we want you."

Yoongi did as asked before getting up and going back to the register.

He didn't know why he'd felt so impulsive and bold. That wasn't his style.

But he watched Tuesday Forget-Me-Not finish her soup, and he couldn't help thinking that he'd made the right choice.

They got up to leave, and she smiled at him on the way out. "Yoongi, right?"

Yoongi swallowed, looking up. "Huh?" He blinked. "Yeah, I'm Yoongi. How'd you know?"

"It's on your name tag," she said, laughing, and Yoongi couldn't help but smile back.

"Min Yoongi," he said. "My name is Min Yoongi."

She smiled. "Min Yoongi," she repeated. "It was nice meeting you, Min Yoongi."

She left with her brother, leaving Yoongi alone behind the counter.

It was nice meeting you too, was what he'd wanted to say. But he'd never learned her name, and she wasn't wearing a name tag like he had been, so he hadn't. He kind of regretted it, though. He was already pretty sure that her brother was not going to ever call him back because who would want Min Yoongi to take care of them when people like Youngjae were floating around?

But still.

He'd liked hearing his name on her lips.

He knew that next week, Tuesday Forget-Me-Not would probably come in and Youngjae would be there and he'd take her order (by heart because he had it memorized) and she'd be happy and Yoongi wouldn't be in that picture at all.

But Yoongi thought it would be nice if he were working the counter.

It would be nice if she remembered his name.
