After an hour of staring at the wall I finally fell asleep. This time when I woke up I heard one of the sliding doors open. I sat up and saw Lenny make quick eye contact then walk away. When I jumped out of the car I noticed we were in a parking lot and that Lenny was already to the door of a place called Dennys. Quickly I closed the door and ran up to him and went in. I stood behind. The waitress looked at Lenny weird until she noticed me then said "Two" and escorted us to a seat. We sat at a chair table, "Hi i'm Veronica, I will be your server today. Can I get you drinks?"

"Yeah water for both of us", said Lenny.

"Alright, i'll get your waters and be back for your orders."

"Actually can we order now?"

"Oh yes", she pulled out a notepad.

"I'll have the bacon and eggs."

"Okay, and you?" The waitress looked at me while Lenny look away. I quickly grabbed the book and chose "I'll have a grilled cheese sandwich with fries." She wrote it down and sai she'll be back.

Breakfast for lunch?

I admired the place and looked a Lenny.

It wasn't until I looked closely I noticed something that started bugging me.

On his chin he had a small white fluff that wouldn't move, I just stared at it for awhile.

Then I pulled out my hand to grab it.

Our eyes met.

"Aren't you suppose to be gone?"

I remembered our argument.

~Nothing was said for the whole time at Dennys.~

I quick paced walked as Lenny got in the driver's seat. Then I jumped in the back.

"You know that meal was pretty good."

He didn't say anything.

Annoyed I continued. "I haven't been to Denny's in awhile."

We were now in a small city when Lenny pulled into a Walmart parking lot and got out.

I decided to stay in the car since he didn't seem fond of me anymore.

Thirty minutes later he came back with a grocery bag.

"What'd you get?" He threw the bag on the passenger's floor and looked forward.

"Get out", came out of his mouth is a low murmur.

I looked surprised. "Go." He yelled louder.

He reached into his pocket and threw a card at me. "Use the busses to get home, just go."

"Huh? No." I started to yell like him.

"Huh? You wanted to go home, get lost." He repeated in the same tone.

"I'm staying!" He turned and glared at me.
He proceeded to pushed himself into the back of the car. He held me against the seat and put a switch blade to my throat. "I should have killed you from the start."

"Go ahead It's better than you ignoring me."

The knife cut into my throat.

"I thought we were becoming good friends?"

"Friends, you're just saying that so you can leave like the rest of them."

"Leave? I'm just a little homesick that's all"

My air became more restricted.

"I don't get why you want to stay so much, you had your chances to go."

He moved away with the knife and gripped his hair. "I don't get you at all."

"Why aren't you screaming for life?" He looked at me sadly. "Scream, Run, do something!"He put his hand on his face. "Just who the fuck are you, some suicidal kid?"

I was shooken up by Lenny's outburst but I leaned up and looked at his hands shyly and then hugged him. Knowing well that I could be stabbed. We sat on the three back seats.

"It's okay", I said calm. The knife slipped down from his hands and on my lap.

After a while I moved out of the hug and felt his hands wrap around my neck. Oxygen disappeared and I blacked out.

I woke up laying down and saw Lenny down against the back of the trunk chairs. He sat there smoking. I tried to sit up but felt a sharp pain in my neck "Ah."

"I would advise not moving." Lenny took the cigarette out of his mouth and placed in it mine.

Slowly he took off his shirt and bunched it up, putting it on my neck. The whole time I was trying not to breath knowing I would cough from the smoke.

When he moved his hands back up, where I could see them. They appeared to be drenched with blood. He grabbed the cigarette and put it back into his mouth.

My hands moved to my throat feeling the cloth, I moved them and saw blood all over them.

"Ah,..whats going on?"

"Ever heard of a stab wound dummy?"

He had two walmart bags next to him. Crinkling one, he opened it and pulled out gauze, band ais and ointment. "Stay still." Lenny picked up the cloth and noticed a lot of the bleeding had stopped.

He then lifted my head a little bit and wrapped gauze around my neck. "Later on when they scab up we'll put ointment on it and change the wraps."

The other bag crinkled. "Put on these. Your clothes are a mess." I felt confused, I couldn't move from the pain. Dizzly I looked at him. Not caring if he dressed me. "What are you doing? Just because you a little scratched doesn't mean you can't dress yourself."

My head barely moved while my hands pulled down my pants. Sticking one leg up I pulled it through and then the other. Lifting my hips I slipped them underneath me. I cringed at the pain.

Sliding my body up into a sitting position I felt the shirt rub my bruises. "Ah." I tried to get it over with.

These clothes fit me better than the other ones.

He looked at me while I looked at him.
