THE ONE THING NICKIE MAIER knew was that she was chaos. Walking, breathing, chaos. Everywhere she went chaos followed closely behind her because of what she could do.

So why did her ever elusive secret boyfriend Jasper Calloway seem so eager to pay her any mind, let alone invite her on a camping trip, just the two of them.

The two had set up their little tent and camp, Jasper had made the pit where the fire would end up being lit soon.

Knowing of her ability Jasper looks over to his girlfriend, "Hey Nicks, could you give me a hand and light this fire?"

Nickie looks at Jasper in shock, not yet having full control of her powers and what she could do with them.

But she tries nonetheless, lifting her hand and attempting to aim a fireball at the little pit, missing and almost hitting Jasper in the process.

"Woah! Do you insist on always throwing fireballs at me?" Jasper says jokingly.

Nickie hangs her head, clenching her fists shut tightly before she grits her teeth and calmly says, "It was an accident, babe, so no. Next time light your own damn fire. I don't have full control of my powers yet."

"Woah, woah, Nickie, I was just joking, I didn't mean it rudely. You're okay, I know you're still getting a handle on them. I'm not everyone else." Jasper says calmingly as he walks closer to her, running his hand through her curly dark brown hair.

"Jasper. Why me? You could be with anyone instead of being with me. I'm just a huge bundle of chaos. I could burn down this whole forest if I so wished." Nickie says, looking at her slightly smoking hand before looking up at Jasper.

"Nicks, I love you. You're so entrancing and interesting and you make my life a beautiful place. You may be chaos sometimes but honestly, chaos is beautiful. And that makes you even more perfect in my eyes. I don't give a shit what anyone else in the world thinks about you. I want to protect you, forever." Jasper rambles out, his hand in his pocket, fingers fiddling with the promise ring he had for Nickie.

"You're too good to me Jasper. I love you too. I'm so glad to have at least one person in my corner, and I'm so very lucky that it's you." Nickie says as she kisses his cheek gently.

Jasper grabs Nickie's hand that contained her ring finger before looking into her eyes, "I really mean that I want to be with you forever, Nickie, I want to marry you someday. And that is why I want to give you this promise ring. I promise that I will replace this ring with an engagement ring one day, and I'll protect you from this horrible world if you'll let me."

Nickie looks at the ring in his hand before taking it, slipping it on her ring finger, "Of course I'll let you Jasper, forever."
