So, they headed up the stairs and came to the door that required Brett's iris scan. The moment the door came unlocked, Eve's computerized voice came in again. The room looked the same from the last time Jade was here; grey walls, windows with white drawn curtains, a huge bed at the other side of the room, a dark blue sofa opposite the desk with a few computer screens on the wall and an extra large keyboard with so many buttons, knobs and even a touch keyboard the one she remembered seeing on CSI which she was quite sure it was one of Brett's own designs.

Brett stepped forward and sat on the chair that faced his many computer screens and asked them to take a seat on the opposite sofa. As soon as they were seated, Brett looking flustered and excited, started pressing a few buttons on his keyboard and the screens on the wall came alive.

On the screens, Jade saw a ... wallet?!

"A wallet?"

"Not just any ordinary wallet, this little thing is our communicating device," noticing their astounded and confused look on their face, he sighed but carried on. Non geeky people. "Here, you flap this thing open and you unzip this and a screen will appear from the photo slot. Below the screen is a mini microphone that_"

"You have to be joking, right?" Lance interrupted.

"No, I am serious." Brett replied, frustrated.

"But this is like a 12 year old science project! I am so not using something as corny as that."

"12 year old's science project?! Corny?! What is wrong with your seriously effed up mind? Oh yeah, it's effed up already," Brett glared. He had spent his whole summer trying to build it and here Lance was, putting his baby project down.

Lance rolled his eyes and removed from his ear a colourless earplug.

Oh! Brett stared at it in astonishment. He did not even realise it was there! "This is what you call a communicating device. It doesn't go haywire even when there are high frequency waves around you. It's light, compact, waterproof and colourless and is therefore not easily detectable, handy and comfortable when placed into your ears. This also allows the wearer to communicate with his teammates who wears the same thing. Its voice controlled so you control the volume when its either too loud or soft just by telling it. Now, about the microphone, it is also in the earpiece but it can detect your voice eventhough you are just muttering under you breath as this is programmed to detect and magnify your voice if the need comes necessary."

Brett rushed and grabbed the earpiece out of Lance's hands and scrutinised it. "Where did you get this?" He was scrutinizing the design; it was flawless. He also knew there was only one person capable of suck work.

Lance smirked. "My brother, Chase."

"Chase? Chase who?" Jade asked, frustrated to be out of the loop knowing both boys knew something she did not.

Lance rolled his eyes. "Chase Night." As he snatched the ear-piece back and inserted it back into his ear.

"The Chase who is wanted by mafias around the globe even though no one has ever seen his face before? Chase, whose inventions everyone is willing to spend millions of dollars on but he refused to sell them off? Chase_"

Brett was still going on about this Chase guy and Jade had no inkling as to what he was raving about. She crossed her arms. Who on earth was Chase anyway? "I'm still not getting who this Chase guy is, you know?" she said. The two boys whipped their heads back to her and stared as she shrugged her shoulders. "Yea, seriously, I have never heard of him before."

Lance averted his eyes and suddenly started grinning like an idiot. "No worries, he's on his way up here."

Brett turned toward him. "Up where?"

Then, they heard the doorbell. "Crap, he is here?!" Brett asked, while moving towards the door and everyone was bolting down the stairs. He took a deep breath before unlocking it revealing the most gorgeous guy Jade has ever seen.

His dark hair fell to his eyes. His features were chiselled and he was tall; at least a six-footer. His eyes were dark brown like pools of dark melted chocolate. He was wearing casual jeans and a round-collared t-shirt that showed off his tanned and lean muscled arms. Jade's breath caught as he averted his eyes to hers.

"Hello, I'm Chase."

Oh god, his voice is like melted chocolate. Not literally but you get the point.

Chase then averted his eyes to Brett. "The Chase who is wanted by mafias around the globe even though no one has ever seen my face before? The Chase, whose inventions everyone is willing to spend millions of dollars on but refuses to sell them off." He grinned.

"Crap. You heard what I said, huh?" Brett muttered.

"Yes, I did and it was rather amusing actually." Chase chuckled and turned toward Lance. "Yo, lil' brother!"

Lance frowned. "Stop it Chase, you I know I always hated you calling me that. What are you doing here anyway?"

"I took it my responsibility when I heard you shrieking your head off about some stalker and blackmail. So I tracked you to see what's the huge commotion about."

"I_I wasn't shrieking!"

"Oh, I bet you weren't." Chase grinned like a little kid and once more turned to face Jade. "Hey there, so you finally get who I am?"

She nodded, too mesmerized by the depth of his eyes to utter a single word.

Chase went towards Brett and took the 'wallet' from him as he examined it. "It isn't that bad_" Brett smirked at Lance when Chase mused. "_if you happen to be a 12 year old." Lance burst out laughing.

"Sorry, dude, if you want the group to work, you have to get proper gadgets." Chase said as he went around the living area like he owned the place.

"I wasn't that much of an inventor in the first place." Brett muttered. "How about you joining us?"

There was a moment of anticipation that hung in the air for Chase's answer and decision. He let out a breath, "Sure, since Jade's around." He winked at Jade's direction.

Her breath caught. He was definitely hot.
