Jade was doubling over when Brett arrived at his doorway with Lance backing away from him. Seriously, what if he's gay? Lance thought but reverted his gaze to Jade, who, once done laughing, ushered them into Brett's penthouse.

"I showed Lance his data. He kinda freaked when he found out that his missions weren't that secret." Brett said once they were seated.

"Kinda freaked?! Are you kidding me? Of course I freaked! You could blackmail me, for whatever's sake!" Lance shouted back.

"Blackmail you? That's crazy! You wouldn't even hear me out and then you ran from the room calling me a sicko and some stalker!" Brett raised his voice.

"You have all my data! Of course you're a stalker!"

"But you_" Brett started before Jade interrupted.

"Okay, cut it out, guys! Lance, hear Brett out and Brett, get to the point," she rolled her eyes.

Lance was about to argue but Jade shot him a shut-up-and-listen-or-else look. Which really scared the balls out of him because heck, he did not want another yelling at.

"Okay, I don't think I should show you your data again so I'll get to the point. I am forming a group that include the best people anyone can recruit in the world. May I introduce to you, Jade, best thief I have ever laid my eyes on. Not to mention hot." Brett said while Jade rolled her eyes and a video clip was playing about Jade lurking around a big house.

Wait, why does it look so familiar? "You?!" Lance blurted without thinking.

"Yep, me. I thought you were some thief who was later than he would have hoped but who knew you were an assassin?" she replied coolly. Cat's out of the bag.

"I did." Brett said, interrupting them. "Okay. What say you to this tiny group of ours?"

Lance turned to face both Jade and Brett, his green eyes shrouded. "No can do," he said simply.

"But_" Brett started but was interrupted.

"Unless by joining this, ah, group, I get some cash and a place to crash. Sleeping in my car is taking its toll on me." Lance finished with a huge yawn to indicate how 'tired' he was.

Brett smirked. "That's it? All you care about is money and accommodation?"

"What can I say? I am no thief," he replied, glancing at Jade sideways. "No money income and the stuff I inherited from my parents are depleting." Lance said, placing his hands at the back of his head while he closed his eyes.

"You don't have to talk about me as though I'm not here," he could hear her huff as she crossed her arms.

Brett then made his way to Jade and sat beside her putting his arm around her shoulder. "Hey there, sugar. I am very aware of your presence though," Brett smirked his usual cocky smirk and looked her up and down appreciatively.

She glared at him and her glare soon turned into a fit of giggles as he started tickling her. As soon as he stopped, Jade playfully smacked his arm.

"Okay then, now that I've got who I wanted for our little group, I'm going to show you guys a little of my appreciation and gratitude for joining me."

"What's up Brett?" Lance asked suddenly sitting upright and focussed.

"Let's go to my room. You probably wouldn't understand if you didn't see it yourself." Brett said, leading the way.
