Chapter 14. Family Dinner

Ryu's POV

"So... Ryu, bring Rai, we are going to visit Oyanagi-sensei"

"But, what are we going to do there?"

"It is a surprise"

In front of Ken's house

I see my father putting Shawn on his shoulder, so I do the same with Rai.

"Hide behind me, I want to surprise him"

I hide behind him just as he said, while he knocks the door.

"There I go!"

Ken opens the door.

"Ta-chan, and Shawn too, nice to see you again. Why did you come today? Last time you came was not so long ago"

"Do you have the thing I asked you?"

"Oh, yeah"

He goes inside the house and comes out with a box on his hands.

"Take it, I already tested it, the KK needs it back before tomorrow at 11:59 PM, so remember sending it before that"

"Sure, take the box Ryu"

"What?! R-Ryu is here?"

I take the box and come out.

"Hi Ken"

"Did he tell you already?"

"Yes, I know all about the KK now"

"Thanks God, I was annoyed of playing the role of a kid while you were around"

"Well, let's go back home Ryu, we have take a dinner with Rai... as a family"

"See you next time Ta-chan! It was nice to see you Shawn, even if we weren't able to talk"

"Don't worry Ken, maybe next time"

"Yeah"

Back at home

Sho's POV

"Ryu, take Rai and Shawn to the table, I will do something before it"

"Sure"

I see the trio go inside the house, so I go to a side.

I find the hole at the side of the house, I go to my knees and whisper inside the hole.

"Arrietty"

I sit down and wait until she comes out.

"Sho, did you told them?"

"Yes, they actually said my work is amazing"

"Thanks Gosh they accepted it so fast"

"Now go with me, we are having a family dinner"

She climbs up to my hand and I stand up.

Rai's POV

Sho comes in, and he has my mother on his hand.

"Ok, I will cook the spaghetti"

10 minutes later

"It is nice to finally have all of you around me; this day was like a dream came to life"

"Oh, Sho, I have a question to ask you"

"What is it Rai?"

"Do you care about me?"

"Off course Rai! You are the son of Arrietty, she is the most important person to me, she gave the strength to do many things in my life, and for that, I have the task to protect you from anything Shawn and Spoiler-kun cannot"

"Spoiler-kun?"

"Spiller, I have some... personal reasons to call him that way"

"Hey dad, what is inside that box?"

"Oh, it is a size-shifting machine; you can change the size of anything with it"

"So, you can use it to shrink a human to borrower size, and vice versa?"

"Correct Rai, I will test it on some things tomorrow"

Change the size? That means I could make my dream come true?
