There Would Still Be A Tomorrow

The rain pours down heavily upon me,

Drenching me from head to toe.

Darkness starts to surround me,

A scene just like from a scary show:

A girl alone in the darkness,

Shivering wet from the cold, cold rain.

She begins to feel completely hopeless,

Her body contorted with pain.

Her knees starts to buckle,

When she felt a difference in the air.

She heard a sudden chuckle,

As the darkness engulfed her in it's snare.

She started running at a blind pace,

Ignoring her body's request for rest.

When she felt the presence give in to the chase,

Her heart hammered loudly in her chest.

Sounds of footsteps were getting louder,

Startling her even more.

She tried to run even faster,

Until she collapsed onto the cold, wet floor.

She forced herself to get up,

Pushing the pain back into her mind.

She ran and ran until she finally gave up,

Death no longer wanted to be denied.

She collapsed unto the ground,

Her tears mixing with the rain.

She could no longer hear a single sound,

She could no longer feel any pain.

Her body felt completely numb,

As she wrapped herself tightly into a ball.

Although she knew it was completely dumb,

She was safe, trapped inside her soul.

Then suddenly, she felt herself being lifted,

Away from the cold, dirty ground.

She knew that she should be frightened,

But the darkness was no longer around.

Now I look up into a pair of deep beautiful eyes,

Which was full of relief, love and sorrow.

Whether or not what their telling are lies,

I know that there would still be a tomorrow.
