Chapter 26

"Sir, it's prohibited to make out here. Hehe..." Coby halted his kiss and gently rested his forehead against mine. He had a smile on his face, which made me feel my entire face heat up with embarrassment.

"Alright. Just leave it there..." Coby said with a playful grin to the annoying guy who was intruding. I kept my head bowed until the guy finally walked away. I was mortified!

"Why don't you eat something first..." Coby said, biting his lip to suppress a smile. Wasn't he going to ask if I was okay with it? That was my first kiss! My very first kiss, and it happened like that.

"Hey! Eat something already. You've been staring at me for a while now. It seems like... you still want more, huh?" He grinned.

"Want more of what?" I asked innocently.

"What is it that you want more of?" He said with a smirk, shaking his head. My face felt like it was turning into a tomato again, and my heart was pounding rapidly. I wasn't even sure what the beating meant. My cheeks were burning, and I shifted awkwardly in my seat, trying to find something to focus on besides his teasing eyes.

He leaned in slightly, his voice lowering to a playful whisper. "Or are you just enjoying the company?"

I swallowed hard, trying to come up with a witty response but failing miserably. The silence hung heavy between us, and I fidgeted with the edge of my napkin.

We quickly finished up, so we headed home right away. The ride was silent, and we stayed quiet until we reached my house. He didn't linger this time; I thanked him for the day, and he left immediately. As I watched him drive away, I couldn't shake the feeling that the evening had shifted in a way I wasn't quite ready for.

I quickly collapsed onto my bed. I wasn't that tired, but it seemed like I'd fall asleep quickly tonight. I touched my lips, still feeling the warmth from our kiss. His lips were sweet but hot and spicy once tasted, leaving a heat in my mouth. I smiled, remembering how the image of us kissing sent shivers down my spine.

"What happened on your date?" I was startled when Lucas suddenly lay down beside me. I hadn't even noticed him come in.

"We visited Mom..." I replied, trying to keep my tone casual. I didn't want to dive into all the details of the day's events. There was a lot to unpack, and I wasn't sure how much I wanted to share. Lucas seemed to sense my hesitation and didn't press further. We lay in silence for a while, the room filled with a comfortable quiet. The day's events replayed in my mind, but for now, I was content to just be here, in this peaceful moment.

"And?" I looked at him. He was staring at the ceiling, using his arms as pillows.

"Nothing much. We just ate afterwards."

"Did you kiss?" I felt like I'd been doused with cold water from his question.

"W-what?"

"Did you kiss on your first date?" he clarified. Dang, I wasn't prepared for this kind of conversation. The question caught me off guard, and I wasn't sure how to respond. I glanced away, trying to compose my thoughts.

Lucas's gaze shifted from the ceiling to me, his expression unreadable. The silence between us grew heavy, and I could sense his curiosity swirling in the air. I fidgeted with the edge of my blanket, feeling a mix of embarrassment and unease. The conversation had taken an unexpected turn, and I wasn't ready to dive deeper into it just yet.

"N-No!," I lied. I didn't want to tell him that Coby kissed me. I was afraid of what he might say or do.

"Good." He smiled and then stood up. He kissed me on the forehead before leaving my room. I breathed a sigh of relief once he was gone. I wasn't sure what I would do when we saw each other again.
