The Tower of Terror tours continued without any problems. Manfred Strang and Beatrice Endicott both married each other in 1915, 15 years after meeting each other. The idol has been quiet for years now, although some guests on the tours have noticed a pair of glowing green eyes staring at them from peculiar places, such as the inside of the stone dragon sculpture. The tour was quite popular among tourists visiting New York. In 1940, during the World War, the tower was converted into an army hospital. The lobby was filled with beds and hospital equipment to tend the soldiers who returned with life-threatening injuries. After the war ended, the tours resumed, with numbers of visitors growing each year. In 1962, president John F. Kennedy went on a tour in the tower, he later ran out of the building, claiming that 'a monkey with glowing, emerald green eyes appeared in front of his face while he was using the bathroom.' President Kennedy later requested for an inspection to take place. In 1965, Beatrice Rose Endicott died at the age of 79 from breast cancer, former members of the New York Preservation Society, Manfred, and their son, Darren, attended the funeral. The Society was renamed to the Beatrice Rose Preservation Society, New York, in her honor. A few years later, in 1970, Manfred Strang died at the age of 86 from natural causes. Strang was buried beside the Beatrice in Staten Island. Even after Beatrice's death, the tours of the Tower of Terror are still going on. More and more people gain an interest in the whereabouts of Mr. Hightower, conspiracy theories, documentaries, and even a TV Series appeared in 1997  to 2004. In 2009, the tours were popular than ever.
