Respect all. Fear none. My pride is everything.

Christian pov

"You have a visitor." The guard came and stood at my cell. I jumped up as he unlocked my cell. Before I knew it I was being shackled. My feet and wrists were being shackled. The chain ran down to my feet causing me not to be able to raise my arms. They escorted me down the hall. I started sweating every step I took.

"Who is it?" I asked the guard.

"Oh buddy you're in for a surprise." He laughed. He opened the door and my heart melted. Laney sat at the table with this sly smile. Next to her was lil Jamal. I wanted to run and hug her but the shackles wouldn't allow me.

"What you doing in Miami?" I sat down and smiled.

"Nice to see you too Christian." She smirked.

"Hey Christian." Lil Jamal smiled. I nodded my head up at him.

"Man where you been?" I asked him. He just shrugged.

"Baby I miss you." Laney touched my arm. The guard cleared his threat and Laney removed her hand. I instantly thought about Jamal. She doesn't even know he's alive.

"I got something to tell you." I said.

"Shut up. I got something to tell you and you are going to freak. My mom came to my house." She rolled her eyes. What?! That is the last person I expected to show their face.

"So what you do? I mean don't fall for her bullshit shorty. She trouble." I told her.

"At least we on the same page! Jory brought the witch to my house trying to be cool about the shit. I'm like bitch is you crazy?!" Laney was going on and on about her mom but I just wanted to feel her in my arms. I wanted to hug her and tell her I love her.

"So what did you have to tell me?" She asked. I instantly regretted opening my mouth.  I don't want to tell her but I know I have to.

"I ummmm..." I was lost for words. Her smile soon turns to a straight face. She was concerned now.

"You good?" She mumbled. I still couldn't speak. I had to take a deep breath.

"Jamal is alive." I said. She stared at me looking all crazy. She seemed like she saw a ghost.

"Huh?" She sounded confused.

"That's my name!" Lil Jamal yelled excitedly.

"Jamal.. your Jamal. He is in here facing 50 to life." I said. She just stared at me.

"My baby is in here?" Her voice cracked as tears started to come down. I wanted to cry now.

That's when I came to my senses and realized I have t said a word to her. She was waving her hand in my face and calling my name.

"Say something B." She looked worried.

"Huh?" I said.

"I said what did you have to tell me." She said.

"Oh I wanted to tell you to talk to me a good ass lawyer. I got to get out of here." I said. Wasn't no way I was gone tell her Jamal was in here. I would be a damn fool.

"For sure. You know I got you." She said.

"Time is up." The guard came and grabbed my arm. He stood me up.

"Bye lil man." I told lil Jamal. He smirks and threw me the peace sign. I looked up at Laney and saw the hurt in her eyes to see me all shackled up.

"Bye." I told her. She looked like she wanted to cry.

"Don't tell me bye. Say see you later." She ordered. The guard had me walking to the door.

"See you later princess." I called out to her.

Laney pov

I have never been labeled as a princess. That had me smiling from ear to ear. I've never even been considered anything other than a mistake.

"You're a mistake. I hate I had you." My mom said. I dropped my head and walked towards my room.

"I love you too mom." I said sadly.

No little girl should ever have to feel the hurt I've felt in my lifetime. Then she comes back in my life like shit ain't happened! She just want money from me but I don't have it for her! She ruined me! I hate her!

"Are you okay?" Lil Jamal asked. I looked down at him. He looked so innocent. He shouldn't have to wonder why his mom doesn't want him. He did nothing wrong.

"I'm fine." I grabbed his hand and walked him outside. Black hooked me up with this Black 2013 Toyota Corolla. It ain't much but it gets me where I want to go. I buckled him in the passenger seat and walked around to get in the driver's seat.

It's time to find a good lawyer. I can't get the lady that defended me because that would look kind of shady. But she made sure I went home a free woman.

"He looks scared in there." Lil Jamal said. He was reading my mind. My baby doesn't even look right in that orange jumpsuit. He is a pretty rich boy and I hate I got him in this lifestyle.

I'm going to stay in Miami a while because I need to make sure he's good. Then when he get out we will go back to Atlanta. Until then I am here for the long run.
