"what are you talking about?" she asks me.

"when did you come home?"

"oh, well I didn't really check a clock so it was just a guess."

"what really happened now?" I asked her.

it didn't appear to be pleasant from the circumstances.

"what's I say yesterday? I can't even remember."

I raise my eyebrows in response.

"you don't need to worry about me."

"not to be rude, but you look like shit alice, what happened?"

"my car broke down god geoff, give me a break."

"and this?" I say while pulling her smashed phone out of my pocket.

"lost it." she says quickly while snatching it out of my hand, "how did you get this?"

I did not think that through.

"take a guess?"

"well..."

this is awkward.

" that's really all?"

she looks anxious, "yeah."

"sorry then I guess, should I leave?"

she nods her head yes.

just going to act like that didn't hurt me even the slightest.
