A Prince in Distress

163 1 1

There is a man who waits to be saved, locked away in a chamber, away from most of the world.

He is restrained behind walls built by himself out of fear, fear of pain, rejection... unacceptance.

There is pain in his heart like he is grasped tightly, not letting a single drop of blood flow or a single breath of air enter.

He is a king in his palace, and his crown is a wreath of thorns which flowers have already dried and died out.

His garments lost their colors, his castle is a ruin, and he is a mess.

No one's gonna save him now, or at least not the person whom he wants to.

Because no knight-in-shining armor is going to save a prince, for they are too busy searching for a damsel in distress.
