Chapter I. The Day

Start from the beginning

"His knees are fine, just rub so-"

"I don't think so." Calypso interjected. For the nine years Calypso had known Langdon he always took poor care of himself, always insisting that rubbing dirt into a wound would somehow make him more of a man, and when he finally did, Calypso being the friend that she was, didn't stop him, and lets just say he paid the price

"Lets head back to the house, I'll clean and bandage your knees, and I'll make a snack"Calypso offered. Myron looked up, and nodded ardently with a precious smile

"Come on Langdon. I'll race you to the Market" Myron gaited as he stood and light heartedly smacked Langdon's arm. He chuckled

"Then who will push your sister?!"he opposed gesturing to Calypso and the wheelchair she sat in. Langdon gabbed the handles and pushed Calypso forward, the rocks and sand grinding against the barely metal wheels. Myron ran ahead of Landon and Calypso, most likely to see all the food in the shop. When they arrived to the Market, Myron always watching the people in the Market bargain their limbs for food. Looking hopefully at a world he so desperately wanted to chance.

"You know I can take care of myself, Langdon"Calypso said, as she scratched the back of her neck.

She looked forward her eyes purposefully glued onto Myron, and her fingers fiddling with the leather tassels of her bag

"I wouldn't want to beat the child twice in one day" Langdon laughed. Calypso would never admit it, but she loved his laugh. It was the kind that lingered in the air just a second longer, just because the silence didn't want it to leave just yet

"you truly are awful" Calypso laughed. Langdon wouldn't even give Myron one victory, but Calypso knew why. Langdon was there to teach Myron how to rule, not to stroke his ego

"Who wouldn't take the chance to have a stroll with a beautiful young lady."He charmed. Calypso's eyes burned into Myron's back. She told herself to focus, to not think about it, think about him. She bowed her head appearing to be unaffected by the comment

"You know its rude to charm your employer"Calypso jested. Langdon threw his head back into a hearty laugh as his hand gripped to his heat,

and so the silence beckoned.

"So that's what I am? All these yeas I was under the impression that we were peers, or maybe even friends" He laughed, Calypso laughed along with him. After that he grew quiet. Calypso noticed that Langdon was moving slower the distance between Myron and them growing larger, and just as she rose her voice he spoke

"The Triad of Espionage, Mattias. He's sick" Langdon said quietly. Calypso's back stiffened, and she clenched her fists, do not get mad

"What?"She hissed turning around and looking at Langdon's face, beautiful hazel eyes that always managed to stifle her speech. He held her gaze for a moment, but broke it and his eyes focused onto Myron

"He's ill, a friend of mine in Kaloria sent word this morning" He whispered. Calypso's hands clenched onto her bag.

"How bad is it?" Calypso asked. Langdon moved slower and Myron was a faint freckle of a boy running in the shops.

"They don't think he's going to survive the winter" Was all he said, Calypso saw how his jaw clenched at that.

"Myron is only thirteen"Calypso stated, her eyes shifting onto Myron, who was helping a woman pick up a bag of apples with a bright smile spread wide across his face.

"That means that we'll train harder, and more often than before" Langdon said. Calypso felt her heart thumping louder this every sentence he said.
