I quickly shove all the groceries into the car as I run to catch up to the fur wanting to know at least the full whole story of what happened to their clique of friends. "Hey wait up" the fur then turns so that we can be face to face. "Um who are you?" The fur turns to look at me confused for he's never seen me in his life before.
When I get a look at him, I was about to facepaw myself for it wasn't the right fur that I was thinking he was. "Oh! Sorry for even bothering you or stopping you from doing what you need to be doing. I just thought you were someone else?" The fur nods his head slowly as he walks off and I walk to the car in shame for I could've sworn it was him.
I enter the car to then slam my head on the car wheel. "Such a dumbass" I then turn the key so I can drive back home seeing that I wasted almost the whole day at the store just looking for all the foods since Dale asked for some weird types of foods. "Never heard of someone ever needing squid ink but I'll try to look for it?" I drive out of the parking lot hoping the fresh fish market might have something along those lines.
I arrived at the market looking at all the different kinds of seafoods they have until I find this fur selling squids. "Do you have Squid ink, for sale?" I ask kindly. He nods his head in agreement selling me forty eight ounces of the ink. "Well that was a bit too easy and I'm not okay with that to say the least" I look at the time to see that Dale should be home by now and that I was spending my whole day out shopping for groceries. "At least I did something productive today" I start parking in the building's garage.
"I can't believe that Dale does trust me this much and we've only been friends for a few days. I find that sometimes odd along with me not being able to find anything about him or his past. Wouldn't any fur out there find that to be at least a tad bit strange? Someone at least has to agree with me?" I finish typing my thoughts in the notes of my phone. I take out the spare key that Dale has given to me.
"Dale? Are you home?" I put down all the groceries on the kitchen counter top. "I'm here Felix. Don't worry. Your big dragon buddy is here" I hear Dale chuckling a bit to himself as I follow the sound of his voice to the guest room that's supposed to be for me. "So you're getting my room ready for me to stay in?" I start sweeping the semi dusty room. "Yep! I felt like you were uncomfortable with us sharing a bed, so I chose to clean this room up and move out some boxes that has sports gear" Dale gives me a light smile.
"Well thanks for all of this Dale. I can't repay you enough for all these things that you have been doing for me. I wish I could but I can't" I sit down on the bed looking out the nice view I still have. " You don't have do anything of the sort. All you have to do is just enjoy the freedom but looking for a job yourself wouldn't hurt, ya know?" Dale sits by my side. "Lastly being gay isn't something that you should be ashamed of being" I turn to face him surprised for two reasons. Once he doesn't care about what I am and two he isn't beating me up.
"H-how'd you know..." I ask him nervously. Dale faces me to give me a smile and warm loving hug. "I just took a really good guess. Just don't worry about me doing anything to you. You along with a few other furs matter to me and I'd hate myself by losing you" Dale finally breaks the hug as I'm blushing a crimson red.
"You really are a one of a kind friend to me Dale" I tear up a bit trying to finally leave my whole past behind me. "Now don't you dare cry on me you wolfie" He lifts my chin up to pull me close to him. "Don't delve so much on the past even though it can still hurt you so very much now. You must focus now in the present and look at all the things that you have around you" I take in Dale's words with my heart letting myself shed the tears that I've hold for sometime to soon smile.
"Thanks for helping me through these situations when no one has ever been by my side" Dale looks in my eyes for a few seconds. "It takes one tortured past to understand another's pain" he slowly starts to lose his smile as I look at him wondering what he meant by that. "What do you exactly mean by that Dale?" I grab his hand hoping he'll be willing to talk to me with it.
"Okay let me explain it to you briefly or as easy as I could to you" Dale takes my paw in holding a bit more tightly. "So my life wasn't the best either so I know at least some stuff that is going on with your life, I can't full relate since we didn't suffer the same things but at least I can feel your pain" Dale for the first time I have seen him is starting to tear up so I bring him into a heartwarming hug. "Don't say anymore Dale. I understand what you are trying to tell me" I let him go so he can gather himself.
"Let's just go put those groceries away and we'll talk about this all when you and I are both ready to speak of one another's true pasts" Dale looks at me while giving a small sniffle to get up. "Sorry you had to see me like that just bottling up emotions isn't the best thing to do even though I still do it because I hate showing my true feelings" Dale follows me as he starts to have his regular smile look.
"I do have one question for you at least. Why do you need squid ink? Never heard of a dragon ever wanting that" I tilt my head as I start to unpack all the groceries that I brought from the store. "Oh! Yea I'm gonna use that to make fresh squid ink pasta but by the look on your face you've never heard of such a thing so you'll be in for a treat when I do come around to make it" Dale sticks out his tongue and I stick mine back out to bring ourselves to some laughing.
Wow another chapter!? Still having some long date gaps between them but the ending of the school year is coming and all of it is just getting distracting along with being hectic. Either way I hope you guys/gals are doing well.
