Never Let Go (A Gay Furry story)

I wake up startled by the sound of what is to be fireworks as I lift my head up a bit to see them a bit far off in the distance. I stop focusing on the fireworks to see that I've been snuggling up to Dale with his right wing covering most of my body. 'Didn't plan this to happen but the feeling feels so right, it's been years since I was able to feel safe. Dale you really are a good friend' I let myself slowly drift off to sleep once more.

Dale slowly wakes up to see that I'm under his right wing. 'As much as I'd like to keep this going I have to get to work, I'll make him breakfast at least' Dale slowly slips out of his bed leaving me in a thin bed sheet. Dale walks to the kitchen and he starts to make me some scrambled eggs going along with some bacon, sausage, and toast. "Okay, I'm sure that's enough for a growing wolfie such as himself" Dale chuckles to himself for a bit until he starts to write me a small sticky note for where he is going.

I couldn't help but wake up to the loving smell of breakfast in the morning. "Good Morning Da--" I start to look around the room not being able to see a single trace of him other than the smell of the food and the bathroom being a bit steamy from the shower recently being used. "Dale?! Are you here!?" I yell throughout the whole room. I jump straight out of my bed, walking to the kitchen to see pans holding the food I've been constantly smelling.

I lick my lips as I look around the stove seeing the bacon and sausage. "Food first then Dale? Or Dale then food" I sit down on stool as I start to think on what choice I should take that is until I saw a bright pink sticky note lying on a plate. The two notes read as the following.

"Hey Felix! I had to go to work, I won't be back until 7PM. Sorry about that bud but I left you some cash if you do want to go out and restock us on some more groceries that'll be helpful or you could just go out and relax by having a nice calm day with the sun being bright as ever. Well I'll see you in a bit, take care, be safe and uh love ya? Is that too soon?" I hold the notes as I smile with pure happiness.

"I can't believe he really does care about me but I shouldn't get my hopes up, right?" I fill my plate up with food to than walk to the living room to watch some TV while enjoying my breakfast. 'What should I even do with the rest of my day since he won't be around to talk to. Maybe I should go out and try to even make more friends?' I set my now empty plate on the coffee table.

I trudge myself to the bathroom so I can take a shower, so I slowly start to strip my clothes off feeling much more relaxed and calm knowing that I'm in such safe hands. I get into the piping hot shower wanting to put my fur against the water.

Once I was finished with my hour long shower I changed into some clean clothes but I couldn't stop myself from laying back in Dale's bed for it's so very comfortable. That's when I started to get nosy, the last thing that I should be doing is being nosy by going through all his stuff but I couldn't control my very own curiosity as I start to open drawers.

While looking around his whole room I found nothing so important but the fact that he's such an amazing athlete, a loving person and someone who knows how to hide his damn secrets. "I really can't find anything other than his clothes, which I'd have to say are kind of hot looking on him if I were to ever see him wearing the clothes" I let out a small chuckle from what I have been talking about.

I try to make everything look like it hasn't been untouched except for the bed since I like to lay on there even though he does have a guest room if I remember him saying that to me. I look down at my phone seeing no messages about my where about and being honest I don't care what they have to say if they even do chose to send me a text.

Instead of being some loner hiding in some dragons apartment I made myself go out to buy the list of foods he wants me to get along with whatever I wanted . 'He really does go far and beyond being a friend, He's considered in my books like the bestest friend ever! Maybe just maybe he can be my boyfriend? Nah that's just one huge long shot isn't it?' I enter the grocery store mostly thinking about all the things that the future might have in store for me but then again what even will happen? 'Not everyone's life is that exciting or crazy! Heck some books are great to read since it lets you escape the realism that is happening in the world but the life for furs isn't always just happy and a cliche'

I started adding vegetables and fruits into the cart as I'm not fully concentrating on the things that I've been saying in my mind. 'I need to cool it down sometimes, I never know when to stop sometimes? I just ramble on and on in my head wanting to tell these things to actual furs but when it comes to that moment my shy ass doesn't say anything' I shake head lightly so I can stop side tracking and pay attention to what I am doing.

"Okay so I have the apples and pears he wanted, I got the many vegetables he asked for as well and now he wants some spices?" I go along the aisles getting what is needed until I make it to the cashiers so they can check me out and I pay for the food.

I take all the groceries to my car well that is until I see one of the furs I remember seeing on the news awhile back. 'I don't think I should approach him? Or uh should I? I'm stumped I want to make new friends but I don't think he should be the one' I keep loading my trunk with the groceries as I see the fur slowly walk away.
