Some eyes

40 11 4

Too strong to hold
Two crystal pools
We gaze
Shattering time
Leaving us to fall in space
But you hold onto me
You hold me tight
So that we spin together
In this dizzy flight

I don't try to look away
For I am scared I just might lose my way
And disappear into darkness.

But I must

Before this hold consumes me
And drowns me within its sea
For I have tasted salt too many times to still let water bleed from my eyes.

Some eyes, like sirens call me to a sleep
I know I won't wake from
Because I would have fallen too deep
So I have to
I must
Look away
Because a person can only swim for so long.
