ELEVEN: NEW FRIEND.

Start from the beginning

It was only two days. There was a time they would go weeks without talking but why does these two days feel like a year to her?

"Ke Hida. Wai when are you coming back to the hostel ne?" Samira asked her when they met outside their department.

"After my cousin leaves." She replied sounding down and bored.

"What's with you? Where has all your spirit gone?"

"I don't know too." She sighed.

"Malam Naseer has been asking after you. What's going on?" Sameera inquired.

"Oho. I don't know."

Not wanting to argue as she was already tired from attending two boring lectures, Sameera didn't bother to ask further and argue with Waheeda.

"Hey girls." Maryam Iqram greeted as she found a place to sit next to Waheeda.

"Hey Iqram." They answered in unison.

"Waheeda. I miss you. Come back." Iqram hugged her.

"When did this girl become like this? What have you been feeding her Sameera?" Waheeda chuckled.

"Rice with crocodile's eye soup" Samiey answered with an eye roll. They all laughed.

"That was how Muhsin was telling me about some disgusting soups. Snail soup, reptile soups. Just ewe." Iqram made a disgusted expression.

But Waheeda surprised expression wasn't because of the soup. "Which Muhsin?" She almost shouted.

"Kaman ya which Muhsin? Muhsin Muhsin nah. The only Muhsin I know. Your Noppe manga nah."

"He called you yesterday?"

"Yes why?"

Waheeda quickly tried to change her expression to poker face. "Oh. Nothing. I just thought maybe his phone crashed or something. But since it's fine shikenan."

Her friends could see right through her facade but chose to ignore it since she tried to hide it so well.

Since that day she decided to never try Muhsin's line again. (Lol she haf vex. -- in case u are wondering. Yes am the kind of girl that comments in her own book 😩 like this)

After chatting with the girls for a while, they decided to leave. Sameera to her next lecture, Iqram to the hostel and Waheeda home.

"Sameera. Do you have your eyeliner and lip stick with you?" Waheeda asked before she left.

She just got a message from Naseer asking her to meet.

"Yessss? Why?" Sameera asked her.

"I can't go to the battle field without a weapon."

"Whatever that means?" Iqram stated confused.

Waheeda didn't answer. She just smiled.
She let Sameera put the eyeliner on her eye lid and red lip stick.

"I was beginning to think you won't show up." Naseer rose up from the grass.

"I was begining to think you would give up."
He laughed.
"Not on this planet."

After talking for a while. He came to understand that either Waheeda isn't ready to get married or she doesn't want to marry him in particular.

What Waheeda understood was that, this man standing before her is eager to get married and desperate for love. She didn't think she was ready to give him that.

They didn't reach a conclusion but they were back on good terms and Naseer couldn't be happier.

When Waheeda left, he picked his phone and made a call.
"Hahahahaaha. Told you I was different. ..... oh c'mon she has never shoo-ed me away or dared me to meet her father......... no. I think she might actually marry me if I meet her father. She just isn't ready for marriage yet. I know she loves me."
