Chapter 29

"The what?" I looked at the seemingly blind boy running effortlessly alongside me.  Pulling Logan seemed easier now but that was only because he was running with me instead of trying to get free. I still couldn't wrap my head around what this stranger was telling me.

"It roughly translates to the claim-claim fruit. It gives me the ability to see through animal's eyes- though creating the bond to actually do that is such a pain." He blew out a heavy sigh while searching around quickly. I watched carefully when his eyes flashed from the rat's red colored eyes to an eerie yellow. "That's why I can't leave Beatrice." I raised my eyebrow not sure if I even wanted to know who or what this Beatrice was.

"Miss, the guards will be here any minute." I knew Rosa was right but I knew it wouldn't be easy to convince this guy to leave his other set of eyes behind.

"We'll deal with them when they get here. If this guy can find this Beatrice quickly we can still make it out of here in one piece." (lol see the pun?? No? Okay, ._.) "Do you know where Beatrice is being kept?" He nodded seeming completely at ease. His strides were long and nearly silent and he had this smile on his face that didn't match the situation. Either he was used to high-risk situations like this or he took after Amir with his playful personality.

"My name is Sebastian by the way. Though I'm curious as to why that guy is wrapped in... your hair." He motioned toward Logan who snarled in rage. I was just about to answer him when the thunderous sound of footsteps filled my ears.

"There they are men!" I paused when I saw the vast number of Marines quickly filling up the corridor. Rosa hissed but I held her back; this is the reason I brought Logan. He seemed to know he was being freed too because he lunged forward before I unwrapped my hair from his wrists and face.

"He's a bit of a wild card." I sighed watching Logan attack the first Marine in his path. "Rosa, can you stay with him while we go and get Beatrice?" She nodded as she watched the Marines scramble to take down the bloodthirsty monster. "Remember, do not get in his way. Lower their numbers but keep your distance from Logan." I grabbed Sebastian by the arm and took another hallway to avoid the sea of Marines trying to corner us. "Lead the way Seabass." He raised his eyebrow at the nickname but gave me a million-watt smile as he took the lead.

"You seem like an interesting bunch." I tensed when he wrapped his arm around me and pressed his cheek to mine. "So I take it you're a pirate? My father probably doesn't make any other kind of friends." He chuckled sniffing the air like an animal. "Whats your captain like?" I laughed at the curiosity burning in him.

"I'm the Captain so you tell me." His eyes snapped to mine as if it was a shock.

"A captain as beautiful as you? Sign me up." I laughed at his cheeky smile. It seemed odd for him to make a comment like that due to his child-like appearance.

"That was the plan." He pulled me to a stop just in front of a door and tilted his head as if listening. That would be something I'd have to ask him about later; it seemed like his senses were heightened but I didn't know if it was due to his devil fruit powers or just a compensation for his blindness.

"She's in here." I nodded and stepped back to give myself room. I quickly lifted my leg and brought it crashing down against the door. "Impressive." Sebastian looked at the lock that had nearly been knocked off by my kick. I smiled and lifted my leg, gearing up for my second kick.
