Chapter 3 - Auburn

Mortification. That's all there is to what just happened. I am absolutely mortified. Why did Reece have to say that?

"Kids? The food's ready. Come eat. Oh and for you kids who don't know, my names Sally. I'm Miles and Will's mom" Sally says half leaning through the doorway to the back patio.

"Coming Sal" Parker answers

"Oh, so which one of these two fine human walls are you dating?" Randy asks Parker motioning to the very attractive Will and Miles. Whom I both saw this morning when we just got here. And lemme tell you. They look even better up-close. Even Crowe who is attractive with light brown hair and...blue eyes?

"Oh no, neither. Me and Miles here are just best-friends. And this one I just love to death" Parker answers pinching Will's cheeks like he's some kind of adorable puppy

"Food people, did you not hear" Miles says ignoring the semi-conversation going on

"Our sweet little food vacuum hungry?" Parker asks Miles who has a pouty face

"What did you think woman!" Crowe says and gets up with Miles to storm rather dramatically out the door. The rest of us stare after them for a few seconds then get up and follow.

"I really don't get how they can eat this much? I swear my brother can polish an entire buffet" Les says to no-one in particular and eyes Will suspiciously "Do you also eat that much?" he nods slowly, awkwardly, like he doesn't really get the question.

Dinner was nice, too many people for my liking, then again three people are too much for my liking, but it was nice. Will sat next to me and either his thigh or arm – both very muscle-y - kept brushing against me. I'm pretty sure it was deliberate since Parker and Miles kept smiling and looking at us from across the table. Again, too much people for my liking. The adults talked about work and the high-schools football games that are coming up. Mom, Reece and Milo has concluded that Reece should try out for the team; he'll no-doubt get in since his old coach called the coach at this school to brag and what-not. The kids talked a little about school and such, and what we should do after dinner; apparently video games are one of the pass times in a small town like this. That and sports.

I am currently standing in the kitchen with all the other girls. We're just waiting for the guys to set everything up in the basement which also doubles as their gaming room

"So, where are your parents?" Bree asks Parker

"Oh my mom died when I was really young so I live here with Sal and the boys. My dad's probably at work" Parker answers with a shrug

"Wait, you live with them?" Randy asks with a slightly confused expression on her face

"My dad's the sheriff, so he's at the station like always, sleeps there and all. Since my mom died he's been a complete workaholic. I was like five when she dies so Sal and my dad agreed it would be best for me stay here. And Milo and I have been best-friends since we were born, so it's not like awkward or whatever"
