Run Dipstick run!

Stop distracting me!

They're gaining on us!

Well then you take over and run!

You said I couldn't!

Since when have you ever listened to me!?

I jumped and slid down the slippery tiles of a pitch black roof. Two of the five goons chasing me skidded on the tiles and fell to the cluttered streets below.

The nightmare realm had certainly not been what I had expected. It was an entire universe built up from nightmares. The place I was in now was like a medieval city, but from a Transylvanian Dracula Horror movie.

It was a long story. But basically I had gotten hungry.  And had stolen some food from the market. But seeing as eating for demons was a privilege and not a necessity, I may have stolen a rare delicacy.

The bag of apples and bread under my arm would usually not be worth dying for. But I was really hungry.

I jumped from one roof to another and almost toppled backwards, catching onto a gargoyle head to stop my fall. The stone creature snarled at me and tried to bite my hand and I pulled away, keeping my balance on the roof.

Alright that's it! I am not dying for bread. Move over and we'll fly out.

We can't fly! The gas above will kill us!

Hold your breath.

With that Bill took over and pushed me into the back of our mind. All I could do was see through my eyes and hear through my ears with him as he controlled my body.

I had developed a terror of Flying nine months ago, almost directly after Bill and I had fused our souls accidentally. And so as Bill jumped into the air I closed our eyes and lost our balance.

"Dammit Pine tree! I need to see!" Bill yelled.

I hesitated before opening our eyes a little bit for Bill to see. He regained balance and went shooting off into the sky. The green poisonous gas that served as clouds enveloping us. Bill held our breath as he tried to fly through it. Our eyes began to water as the gas burned them. We needed to breathe. Finally we couldn't take it anymore. Bill let go and we went tumbling from the sky.

As soon as we were out of the gas clouds I gasped out in relief. Only to realize I was in control now. And falling to my death.

Before I could even open my mouth to scream. I passed the roofs. The buildings. Into the street. And landing in a cart full of hay.
