Chapter 7: The Audition

Start from the beginning

Laura's POV

No.

This was not just an audition.

Ross was auditioning too.

I really needed this part.

''Since you asked me and I didn't ask you... So when did you start liking acting?'' I asked him to break the silence.

''My parents always knew I had charisma when I was a kid. And one day, after I saw a really cool movie, I told my mom I wanted to be in movie. So she got me an agent, and I started doing little gigs, and I ended up really liking it. So here I am now, auditioning maybe for my biggest role yet.''

''So you are pretty confident about this whole thing, aren't you?'' I asked him.

''Well why not be? Isn't it better to be confident and positive instead of being all scared and stressed out? Even though stress is annoying, you can make it in something positive to make you feel better about everything.''

Wow. He did know a lot about self-confidence. I mean, I did look like a guy who feels good about himself, in the good way.

Now, I was really considering his advices.

Ross would really help me go through this. And that made me feel really good.

While Ross and I were talking about anything and everything, I realised it had been a while we were here.

I checked the time.

10:42

We had been there for about an hour.

Time has passed so fast.

I really liked Ross' company. He was so hilarious.

''Number 782 and 784 please go to your assigned audition room''

An electronic voice called out.

782.

My number.

I stood up.

Surprisingly, I was feeling really confident about this.

I started walking, my head held high, and feeling like a queen.

This was exactly what Ross was talking about, confidence.

A guy was in front of me.

Probably the number 784.

He turned around, probably to the sound of my footsteps.

''Good luck!'' He simply said.

''You too!'' I answered.

What a sweet guy!

Then I saw the number of my room.

362.

I entered the room.

Five people were there.

Smiling.

To me.

I smiled back.

Always with this unbreakable confidence.

Ross' POV

Laura left and a few seconds later, I realised I hadn't wish her good luck.

She probably thought I didn't care about her, but I do!

''Number 793 and 795 please go to your assigned audition room''

It was my turn now.

I got up.

And started walking.

I looked around me to see less people than earlier but still really crowded.

I was in the hallway Laura had taken earlier.

I starting checking the doors' numbers.

I saw Laura's room number.

362.

The room's door was still open.

I stood in the door.

I saw Laura standing in front of the directors' table.

She was facing me since the directors were positioned so they wouldn't see me.

Her eyes quickly looked up to landed on me.

We were looking directly in each other's eyes.

Then I whispered what I had forgotten to tell her.

''Good Luck'' I said softly so no one would hear me.

She didn't say anything.

She just smiled of appreciation and confidence.

Then I remembered we were probably waiting for me to start my audition, and being late was the last thing I wanted to be remembered for.

I found the room, a little further than Laura's room.

Six pairs of eyes landed on me as soon as I stepped in the audition room.

''Mr. Lynch right?'' A guy asked.

''Yes Sir.''

He had a paper in front of him, on the table.

''It's really nice to meet you, kid''

His name was written on it.

''Nice to meet all of you too''

Kevin Kopelow.

A lady started talking to me.

She seemed really nice.

''So to start off the audition, we are going to-''

Bang.

Someone closed the door.

This is when it was starting for me.

And I knew it.
