The Skyranger dropped the squad on a remote highway. The fiery remains of several alien vehicles lit the late afternoon sky. Gunner sent the squad out to positions. They had to eliminate the opposition here, and they had no idea what they were REALLY up against.

They slowly began leap-frogging up the line when Zalewski stopped and quietly whistled. The squad went silent, and Gunner saw a pair of silicoids guarding a Codex. Stupid Codex's.... Gunner was about to order the attack when the trio slowly walked away from the convoy. They found a nice little glade and were congregating right next to each other...

Gunner looked around at the rest of the team. They were all slightly out of position, but this was too good of an opportunity to pass up. She quickly loaded her frost grenade and launched it right into the middle of the trio.

The Codex looked down surprised, not even having time to react before it exploded sending the trio into a temporary winter wonderland. The squad made short work of the frozen trio. When the trio did unthaw, there was little left to support the punctured forms and they nearly melted to the ground with the thawing ice into some kind of alien goo.

Campbell muttered to herself as she reloaded her rifle, "Now THAT'S what I'm talking about...."

The squad took cover behind a big-rig when Pugh spotted the next trio of aliens, a muton and a pair of heavy soldiers. These soldiers had an anti-gravity shield around them that was supposed to protect them from incoming attacks. Pugh looked over to Gunner with some alarm. Gunner looked over to Spark, "Attack."

Spark immediately moved into open view and instead of shooting its auto cannon, lifted its other arm. With a little twist, Spark's entire arm went blasting out into the gut of the muton. The surprise on its face was wiped clean when Spark's arm detonated sending the muton into oblivion, destroying the aliens' shields, and sending the two survivors to the ground.

Zalewski looked over at Spark with surprise and then elation. "DID YOU SEE THAT?!? HIS ARM IS A ROCKET! HIS. *ARM* IS A ROCKET!! I HAVE *GOT* TO GET ME ONE OF THESE. DID YOU SEE THAT?!?"

Bomber was sitting right next to him, "My turn!"
Without blinking, Bomber pulled out her new sleek autocannon and began firing away, the new bullets almost sucking the air out of the areas they passed. Shortly upon firing, one of the big-rig trucks exploded in a fiery explosion. Bomber looked over at Zalewski who looked at her confusedly...

"You missed!"

"No I didn't..."

"You blew up a truck!"

Bomber just grinned.

Finally, Gunner got up. She had been waiting for this opportunity. Almost everybody else had gotten the toys... the hacker, the support, the Rangers...it was her turn. With frustration nearly exploding out of her body, she pulled the trigger.

The auto-cannon was a weapon designed to send as many rounds of ammo as possible into the general direction the wielder was pointing. With enough rounds, the enemy would either be hit, or would have to take covering positions.

The enhanced MAGNETIC auto-cannon increased the speed of delivery of the new and improved ammo for these auto-cannons. Because the auto-cannon could deliver projectiles faster, it would be able to fire more rounds overall if the gun was designed that way.

It was.

Gunner unleashed a torrent of magnetic slugs in the direction of the two aliens. The first alien was lucky. It received the majority of the attention and it felt very little pain as Gunner nearly carved it in two. The second alien wasn't quite so lucky, as the first alien shielded it allowing just a margin of the gunfire through sending it back to the ground again where it flopped around in pain. Gunner released the trigger with a deep sigh of satisfaction, and a new look on life. Amidst all the chaos around her, she was happy. For now.
