i bought a david bowie record today
and as soon as i opened it
two of the tracks skipped
i guess that's the perfect metaphor for my life
yanno i always try to be so upbeat
like some kind of perfected positivity prophet
but i can't be so fucking chipper all the time
not because i'm so depressed but because life is a yin and yang
life is meant to have some down moments
not to be all so happy and perfect and lovely
it's like whiskey in the most literal sense
it'll make you happy but after the happiness fades often times there's just overwhelming dread
sometimes you just need to get it out
i guess that's what i'm doing right now
if i held it all in all the time who knows what would happen
maybe someone would unwrap me and my first two tracks would skip too
