My Angel

I tugged at Squid's gag until it finally came off.

I threw my arms around his shoulders.

"Thank god you're okay." He said.

"For now." The warden piped in.

He glared at her.

"YOU BITCH, YOU CAN PULL THE FUCKING TRIGGER OF THAT DAMN GODFORSAKEN GUN AND WE WON'T TELL YOU ANYTHING!" He yelled.

"Oh really?"

She pointed her gun at him.

I flung myself in front of Squid as I heard the blast.

Nothing hit me .

I looked over to see the warden's gun smoking and Zigzag sprawled on the ground. A red hole quickly forming in his white t-shirt.

"Ricky!!!"

I ran over to him.

Nobody stopped me.

I dropped to my knees beside him and laid his head in my lap.

I ripped off his gag and worked at the ropes tying his wrists together. They fell to the sandy ground.

I gripped his wrists in my hands.

"Oh my god what did she do to you!!!" Tears were streaming down my face.

I brushed the blond hair out of his eyes. Those eyes would make me calm down, but his blue eyes seemed cloudy and distant.

"YOU FUCKING BITCH!!!" I screamed at the warden.

"Maybe you'll take me seriously now." She said.

I kissed Ricky.

My hands found the back of his neck and his hands were at my waist and the side of my face, pulling me closer.

I stopped. He sat up, and winced.

I laid a hand on his chest.

"My wounded soldier."

He gave me a strained smile.

"My Angel."

I stroked Ricky's cheek. His eyes closed, but he was still breathing.

Squid spoke out.

"If you think you're gonna get away with this, you're Insane!!!"

The warden turned to him. And put a finger to his chin and lifted it.

He glared daggers with his narrowed green eyes.

He resisted her and kept trying to wiggle his hands out of the ropes.

"Now, now Squid, if you keep struggling, you won't live to see your mother again." She told him calmly.

He wrenched out of her grasp and tried to bite her finger.

"DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT BITCH AS IF I CARE ABOUT HER. SHE'S NOT MY FAMILY!!! I HAVE NO FAMILY!!" He yelled.
