Barfbag

A few days had passed at camp, and before I knew it, two weeks went by.

I was woken up, not by that annoying trumpet, but by Barfbag.

"Luna, can I talk to you."

"Yeah, sure." I said sleepily.

I climed out of the blankets and walked outside with him.

"I'm tired of this Luna."

"Then go back to sleep."

"No not that, I mean I'm tired of digging holes."

"It's not that bad."

"For you maybe, but I don't get out for another year."

"What can you do?"

"I can ask to go to jail instead."

"Barfbag listen, I hate it here too, but you have friends that care about you, Zigzag, X-ray, Squid, Me, and the others, we're your family."

He smiled at me.

"Thanks, Luna."

I smiled back.

"Just don't do anthng crazy."

"I won't."

We walked back into the tent and went to our cots.

Just as my head hit the pillow, the trumpet sounded.

threw my pillow at the tent wall.

"Aw, come on!!!"

I stood up quickly.

"Guys, can you-"

"We know the drill!" X-ray cut me off.

They all turned around. I put on a red tank top, and tied the arms of my jumpsuit around my waist. I tied my hair up in a bandana.

"There, done."

They all got dressed and walked out of the tent. We grabbed our shovels and headed out into the desert.

It was easier for me to do my hole. It seemed like my hands were doing the work as I let my mind wander. I normally just let my body take control and just think. Just to forget the world and spend some time with my thoughts. Weird I know.

But there are times when I feel sick of myself so I start talking.

"Hey X?"

"What."

"Do you feel like talking right now?"

"No."

"Well then." I said with mock sadness.

"What about you Magnet?"

"Yeah sure."

"So are you Mexican or Spanish?"

"Mexican."

"So where-."

Magnet cut me off mid sentance.

"Lets not talk about me, lets talk about you."

"What're you Mom?" I said, sounding snarkier than I meant to.

"For right now, yeah."

"Fine, ask away." I told him.

"Why'd you burn down that hallway."

"Kicks."

"You did that for fun?"

"Uh, yeah."
