Shattering Memories

"HQ, Floor 24", she said. "That's where you'll find them."

Beside me, I could hear Oka moving among the large trees. "I'm surprised she agreed to tell you after all", she was saying, "I wonder what you said.. Kana." I smirked and stared at her easygoing expression. "How did you know ?", I asked. There was no use in arguing. "It's quite simple really", she said with a smile, "Shiori isn't the type to keep her composure when it comes to things like that. Moreover, you seemed more familiar with them than what Shiori would have been like." "How expected of the Guardian from Reikai", I replied with a sigh, "You really weren't the type to overlook things." She chuckled as we neared the base. "Of course not."

"Are you aware of what'll happen to us then ?" A sympathetic expression appeared on her face as she averted her gaze and looked forward. "I do", she replied quietly. "If we are both referring to the same thing." "Is that why you got yourself involved in this ?", I asked. Oka chuckled. "Perhaps", she said. "As much as I want to stop you, I won't stand in your way. After all this was something that Shiori wanted. I trust her enough to choose her own decisions." "Even if it means betraying Ciel ?", I mumbled. "Only for a short time. But yes." I chuckled, beginning to see the outline of the large building that we were searching for. "Where will you go from here ?" After stopping nearby, Oka looked at me with a mischievous grin.  "I plan to wander around", she replied, "Observe from afar." "That reminds me", I mumbled, "Is that guy going to come here ?" She nodded her head. "Bingo." I grinned and turned to the building. "I see."

"Jah, when we split, watch yourself", I said by the time we arrived somewhere behind the base. Oka chuckled to herself and raised her hand as she turned towards the other direction. "I plan to see you in a bit", she replied with that usual smile of hers. I grinned at her and turned away as I heard her footsteps getting farther and farther away from me.

Now, I thought. This is where it will begin. I grimaced and went inside.

..Not to mention, where it will all end.

"Why did you tell her where they were Xeila !??"  Xeila, who was absentmindedly staring up at the night sky slightly glanced over to her noisy companion. "What good would it do to waste any more time ?", she asked. Eion glared at her and punched the nearest tree to him. "Luurè is going to kill us for this !", he continued on, "Damn it ! Even that rat from Reikai is here !!" "..Hey Eion ?" Xeila looked at him with a disinterested expression. "What !?", Eion snapped. "When she was here.. did you not notice anything nostalgic ?" He frowned at her. "What're you talking about ?" Xeila stared at his confused face before shaking her head. "No..", she mumbled, turning away, "Nothing." "Liar", Eion said from behind her. Xeila grimaced. 

"In any case", she said to him, starting to walk ahead. "Let's head back. We'll just meet them there." "After what happened !?" She stopped walking at stared at him. "Of course. Do you plan to just stand around and wait for something to happen ? Luurè will kill us for that."

I see that Luurè had everything prepared. As I rushed through the waves of demons that stood in my way, I could hear Kana laughing. However that laughing began to fade away as soon as I reached the 4th floor. Someone stepped out from the side and stood in my way.

"This is as far as you go", Sachi said in a calculating manner. "I won't allow you to go any further." I sighed in dismay and shook my head as I shifted my position. "No matter", I replied, glancing around the tight space around us, "I'll manage." Sachi huffed. "As if a mere human can get through my plans." It's a bluff. Sachi raised his hand towards me, and as if it were on cue, these lower ranking demons began to appear around me. I took a step back as they got closer. Follow my lead, I could hear Kana saying. And so I did. Right, left, up, left, down... Pretty soon, it was just Sachi and I. "I have no reason to fight you", I said, beginning to walk towards him, "Let me pass and we won't have to make the situation any more difficult than it already is." He huffed and pulled something out of his sleeve. I eyed his hand and dodged something. It flew right beside my face and hit the back wall behind me. Shortly after, there was an explosion. I looked over my shoulder to see a hole in the wall. I turned back to Sachi.

"If all else fails", he said to me with a glare, "Then I will get rid of you myself. I won't let you pass." I stopped walking and stared at him. In some ways, I wanted to laugh. Instead I grinned. "What are you possibly laughing at !?", he had shouted. I pointed towards him and leaned myself against the wall. "Behind you", I simply replied. But it was too late. By the time he turned around, Oka had already managed to knock him out. She waved her something over him before glancing at me. "What are you doing ?", she asked me in a carefree tone, "Do you not have somewhere to be ?" I eyed Sachi, who was unconscious beside her. "Oh him ?", she said, glancing over at him with a grin. "I'll take care of him. Now shoo, get moving. I heard that Xeila and Eion were coming back." I nodded my head and ran past her.

Very soon, I would meet with Luurè again. I tightened my hand into a fist and continued to run through the halls. It was cleared out this time, free of demons. I assumed that it had been the work of Oka, which I was quite thankful for. As I moved closer, I could feel their presences.

Wakahisa, I thought, completely aware of what was next. I'm coming ! Just wait a little bit more.. I'm almost-

I was cut off when someone hit me from the side. Since I hadn't noticed, I crashed straight into the wall. Once again, I was surrounded by dust. I quickly pushed myself up and looked around. My eyes widened when I noticed Shuichi standing not that far away from me. In fact, he was right where I had gotten hit. I narrowed my gaze and frowned at him.

"What're you doing here ?", I called out, dusting off my clothing. "I told you didn't I ?", he said, slowly beginning to walk towards me. For some reason, there was an uneasy feeling. I raised my guard. "If you left so suddenly, I would come and kill you myself." I slightly grinned but it quickly faded away when I realized that he wasn't kidding. The look in his eyes proved that. "Will you kill me ?", I asked after a few minutes. I placed my hand on my side and grimaced.

The wound had opened up again.
