It's been a while since I woke up with someone next to me after a party. I've almost forgot how annoying it is to share a bed. I barely got any sleep, and spent most of the time freezing cause of the covers being taken away from me.
This time is a bit different, though.
Normally, I'd kick them out or just take the covers back. But I couldn't do that to the girl I've had to put to rest in my bed after a long, wild night.
Just getting her home was a struggle. It required a lot of hushing to stop her from waking the neighbours, and a lot of Chris' muscle to keep her upright.
Vilde groans, her voice getting muffled by the pillow. She's finally starting to wake up. I've been up for a while; she woke me up hours ago by kicking me in her sleep.
"How are you feeling?" I ask.
She shoots up, staring at me as if she's seen a ghost. Looking around the room, it seems to sink in; she's not in her own room or bed. "Eva, you scared me!"
"Sorry," I say. "Chris and I brought you back here last night, cause I wasn't sure if your parents were home or not."
She looks down, fingers fiddling with the duvet. "Thanks."
"Do you need anything? Water? Painkillers?"
The phone buzzes in my hand, and I check it. A message from Chris.
Vilde says something, but Chris had managed to steal my attention. I've never been a great at multitasking.
"Eva..?"
"Yeah? Sorry," I say, putting my phone away. "Water?"
