I suck my bottom lip between my teeth and exhale sharply through my nose, why me? "How can I not?"

"It's not your fault... She will understand babe, I'm sure of it."

I chuckle crisply, "Understand what? That I let her catch feelings for me knowing damn well that I'm dying?!"

She flinches, her eyes closing tightly. Myself slouching further down on the bed, remorseful about my outburst. It's not Chloe's fault, she doesn't deserve this. This kind of stress, this kind of treatment... She deserves to find a best friend who can guarantee something longer than a year. "I'm sorry..." I murmur regretfully;

"No, no don't be. I'm just struggling to come to terms with it all. I refuse to believe you're not gonna be here this time next year Y/N!" She whimpers, her tears rapidly constructing mini puddles in her eyes and it's only mere seconds before they're falling like rain drops down her cheeks. Her eyebrows scrunch up before a loud sob escapes her, her face now well hidden in her two pale hands. Head swiftly shaking when she hears my own sniffles. "I can't, there's a hole in my heart knowing that I only have a couple of months with you before you start fainting... before you start losing your skin colour... before your eyes loose their spark... before you-

"Die." I finish quietly, Chloe whimpering again loudly.

"Hey, hey." Ana is now sitting on the edge of the bed, her own tears clearly showcasing as a trail on her reddened cheeks. Her green eyes dull, something I have probably never seen from the girl. "There must be some type of treatment to save you... there has to be."

Of course there isn't... Even inner Aphrodite is sombre. She's slouching sadly somewhere in the edge of my mind. "It's too late." I counter, "My blood type is too rare, there's barely anyone with the same type. Not even my parents have the same blood type. It's weird."
