"So, my father told me to translate everything. So you can't talk directly to them – they sadly don't understand," he explained. Ethan nodded. "We'll have to share a room – sorry – but we have rules for the bathroom, who when can shower. Same goes for who cooks, does the dishes and cleans the house." He held up a paper with all the names on it and a day of the week. "As you can see, you do the dishes on Monday and Friday. That's all there is to it I think." Where is our room? His heart skipped a beat when he read "our". "Upstairs, directly to the left. We already have set up another bed for you. (A/N: Did any of you think I would be going with the classic: "oh nose we don't have any spare beds now we have to share one shiiiiit but not really shit"?) Ethan nodded. Thank you, he signed with a smile and walked upstairs to unpack his backpack.

He dropped on his back on the bed. Letting out a loud sigh he scanned the room. Tyler and him apparently had a lot in common, judging from his posters. The room was filled with posters of Star Wars and Lord of the Ring, the bookshelf was filled with Harry Potter and it overall just seemed like he was a huge fan of everything Ethan liked. He smiled – he thought they were going to get along well.

"Hi Ethan," Tyler's low voice greeted, waking Ethan up. Apparently he had fallen asleep. Tyler sat down on his bed, making it creak under his weigh. "Oh sorry, did I wake you up?" Ethan quickly shook his head even though it was a lie. No, you didn't. What's up? Tyler smiled. "Nothing much. Just wanted to get to know my temporary brother a little better," he grinned. Ethan smiled too. Sure. What do you want to know? He shove a little uncomfortable. "Well...why don't you talk?" It's a long story. "I have time."

Ethan walked home. He didn't look forward to going home – especially not to seeing his brother. Don't get him wrong, he loved his parents. But his brother was a whole different level. They were never really close – and it kept getting worse and worse since he and his girlfriend broke up. Ethan changed into a box Ball, his only purpose being the stress reliever of his brother. Every now and then he would look naked in the mirror and turn around, just to view all the purple, black, red and blue bruises that decorated his small body.

But this torture was nothing compared to the mental damage that was inflicted on him by his older brother. Day to day he would hear how worthless, useless and ugly he was. And of course, as soon as he opened the door, his brother waited for him, and evil grin on his face and his arms crossed. Ethan whined as he felt a fist his stomach. "You know you're disgusting," his brother hissed. "Your face is ugly. Your voice is annoying." These were the basic insults. Every day they would return.

Ethan hated his voice and face. He was disgusted by them – as he should be, was him told. He looked in the mirror. His brother was careful not to punch him in the face, or at least leave traces in that area, but that didn't make it any less ugly. He let out a small whine. "Why," he whispered. "Did I have to born this way?"

His face, he decided, couldn't be changed. His voice however, could completely stop. His parents already knew sign language because his mother's father was mute, and that his brother didn't know what he was saying didn't bother him. He himself would learn it in no time – he was basically a genius – and he would never have to hear that torturing sound again.

Ethan quickly wiped away some tears. He didn't know why he told all of that – not even his parents knew. "Ethan..." Blue and brown connected. "You're amazing, to still be like this even after all you've been through." He got pulled into a tight hug. At first he was surprised but after a moment he melted into the hug, his slim arms embracing the broad back. "You're amazing. Not ugly." Ethan nodded into Tyler's neck.

For the second time of his life he believed something someone else told him about himself.

For the first time he believed something positive someone else told him about himself.

-One month time skip-

"Are you ready?" Tyler came around the corner, looking hot as usual. Ethan nodded and pressed his teeth together to prevent his jaw from dropping. Yes. Tyler ruffled his hair. "I'll miss you, you know that." Ethan blushed. He had fallen for Tyler, and he had fallen deep. He would miss their midnight conversations, their comfortable silences, their movie and cuddle nights, and especially the way Tyler made Ethan feel. He made him feel loved, beautiful, and useful, which was a nice change from being the punch bag of his brother. Ethan was a hundred percent sure he was in love.

Tyler, who was seventeen, drove him home. "Hey Ethan," he said without looking him in the eyes. "Will you keep in touch? Like, sometimes come by, ok?" Ethan smiled. Of course. Tyler smiled the widest smile he had ever seen. Without processing what was going on he felt his lips being connected to another pair lips. He smiled into the kiss. Will you be my boyfriend? Tyler signed. Ethan smiled.

"I love you so absolutely."
