You shyly stepped onto the bridge. Your brother was the Captain of the Enterprise and you were now working underneath him. You haven't seen him in years. Since then you dyed your hair and had gotten multiple tattoos, but he could still recognize you and treat you like a baby. You hated when he treated you like a child.

But today was the day you dreaded the most. It was the routine checkup of all of the crew. It usually took a few days to get everyone done, due to all of the crew onboard. Unfortunately, Kirk's checkup was one of the first ones scheduled.

You called Kirk down to the Medbay. It took some convincing for him to come, but eventually, he did. He didn't recognize you at first. He didn't recognize you until his flirting was getting too much.

"So, you want to get dinner with me tonight? Maybe do something fun afterward?" Kirk said, placing a hand on your hip. You slapped his hand away and glared at him.

"What? Something wrong?" He asked in his flirty voice.

You turned your head and pulled back your hair, showing Kirk the long scar that ran from the top of your neck beneath the jaw to your collarbone. Kirk's eyes widened when he saw it. After all, he was there when it happened. You two had been playing in a creek near your house when you slipped and fell, cutting yourself on a sharp rock.

You let your hair fall back into place and looked straight at Kirk. You raised an eyebrow at him.

"Now if you let me continue. I have other patients to get to," you said.

Kirk had let you be for the rest of the day until your shift ended. When you heading back to your quarters, Kirk fell into step with you. He stayed silent for a few moments until there were few people around.

"Why didn't you tell me you were on the ship?" Kirk asked in a low voice.

"Because I knew you would baby me and I didn't want that," you answered, keeping your eyes in front of you.

You saw Kirk stop, which caused you to stop. You looked up at you. You two were very close in height and build.

"I would've been crushed if I had found out you were on the ship and it was being attacked," Kirk said, a serious look filling his gaze.

"It'll still crush you if that happened, but I'll be fine. I can deal with things myself. You know that," you said, holding his gaze.

"But you're on my ship, y/n. I don't want to feel any guilt," said Kirk.

"What if you're killed, Kirk?" You asked.

Kirk huffed, looking away. He looked back down at you. "Fine. Just don't get hurt or in trouble."
