To You, My Dearest Friend

A fine day, maybe more than fine
Reliving memories that we made
In the same place, brimming with joy
That I doubt it would ever fade

You, as a constant. Oh yes, what more
Do you think I would wish for and pray!
To have you in my life, always
Honestly, you make my day.

Gross to gossip, no stone unturned,
Every time, lost smile returned
With a word, sometimes your very presence
My mood shifts now question their existence

You came as the blessing that changed my life,
Filling it with laughter, naughtiness and mischief,
I shudder to think what I'd do sans you
Oh, someone give me a handkerchief!

For all our bad days that have passed,
For all the good days yet to come,
For all our tests that are yet to take place,
I know, only stronger than ever we shall become.

I know we will stand the test of time
And beat even the worst of evils, when as one,
For me, you give so much of yourself
Making even dealing with problems fun.

For the great friend that you are,
I doubt if I will be half of what you've been,
Let us sail through the most violent storms
And still laugh through it, making memories umpteen.

Oh my friend, give me your hand
To support me, to hold me while I fall
Till the doomsday day, even when the skies crumble,
Together holding hands, let us stand tall.

Together let us hold our hands, strong as our bond.
Let us walk forever, making memories,
Leaving our footprints together,
In the sands of time.
