Fettered Bird

Just another fettered bird,
Longing for the blue skies
With broken wings and torn heart
Desperately hoping, she lies.

The heart that gave so much,
Now lay lonely, longing
Writhing in pain, no emotions to show
Silently in agony, screaming.

Smiling for the sake of her admirers
In her heart she cries,
Everyday in her mind
A thousand deaths, she dies.

She dragged herself and her heart
To accomplish her academic jobs
Yet the dawn doesn't set in
Before her pillows receive her sobs.

Just another fettered bird
She prays fervently to the heavens above
For the hopeful rays to fall on her
Just once, just once, will they now?

She cried, prayed and screamed
All in the painful silence
Hoping her prayers would be answered
To provide her guidance

Letting her tears cascade she got up
Confident that someday she'll be fine
For, from an unknown chasm so deep
She heard God whisper, "Worry not child, for you're mine"

This is a combined poem from SelenoPhilic and me.. :) Have a nice time. God bless :)
