Chapter 5 Stagefright

Hanging out with 5 Sceonds of Summer was better than I dreamed it would be.

Right now I was waiting back stage for them to start performing.

They had about 15 minutes until showtime left and they were goofing off.

Calum was trying to see how long he could keep a soccer ball in the air with his foot.

Micheal was counting as Calum was trying to beat Mikey's record.

Ashton was playing imaginary drums.

And then Luke.... Well he was trying to do some smooth dance moves while holding his guitar.

He was also standing beside me.

Did I mention that, haha.

I was trying not to stare.

"You excited?" He asked me with a grin.

I nodded quickly.

"I'm excited." Luke said. He looked down at his guitar and then back up at me. "You nervous?"

Instantly I wondered if I was doing something weird.

Why would he think I wa nervous.

Was I blushing too hard?

Was my body trembling too much?

Whenever he got close to me I just shook. And he was stnading about 5 feet away.

Then I slowly shook my head.

"I'm nervous." He grinned with a small blush.

I giggled in relief.

Good.

Wait, not good.

Luke was stage fright?

What.......

I gave him a wierd look.

"What?" He shrugged, his cheeks blushing more. "I can be nervous."

I mouthed "Why".

"It's not because I'm stage fright or anything." He said quickly as if he could read my thoughts. "I just...."

I gave him another look.

He stared back.

Then finally he shook his head. "It's complicated."

I shrugged.

"NIKKI! WATCH-"

Suddenly my arms went up and I caught the soccer ball coming straight at me.

I looked over to see Calum and Michael staring at me in awe.

"How'd you catch that!?" Mikey shouted.

"She's a goal keeper you idiots." Ashton laughed. "She knows how to catch balls."

They all laughed at his statement.

Perverts.

"Oh I forgot." Calum snickered. "I beat Michael's record. Let's see if Nikki can break my record."

I accepted his challenge.

Calum counted as I started bouncing the ball on my foot.

"1! 2! 3! 4!"

"105." Luke said and I kicked it up extra high and caught it.
