The Lonely.

A flash before my eyes.

I saw you walk on in, and you had no clue,
that within that whole time, I was staring at you.
When I went home that day, I played that moment back in my mind. When I first placed my eyes on you, I got this flash of my life,

I woke up and saw you in my bed,
you smiled and kissed my head.
We danced in the kitchen and sang words that can't be said. I dreamt you kissed me, what a sweet fantasy. Oh but I wanted the real thing.
I saw you and my life flashed before my eyes.
Just a flash before my eyes.

Now one year later I'm holding your hand.
It may have not have gone exactly as planned, but,
sitting in your car with my head on your chest, I closed my eyes, suddenly this feeling came alive and,

I woke up in your arms and felt at peace.
Quietly thinking to myself "how lucky are we?"
We drove all night and saw places we've never seen.
I looked into your eyes, and I felt alive,
then you said "Thank you for being in my life"
Everytime I see you my life flashes before my eyes.
Just a flash before my eyes.

You carried me to bed and I kissed your cheek.
I said I was afraid of the dark but you held me.
You said "Darling pay no attention just listen to me.
"Thank you for waking up in my bed,  for letting me kiss your head. Thank you for holding my hand, thank you for loving me the way I am."

In this life and the next, you'll still be the best, I can't imagine anyone else sleeping on my chest.
Just one flash before my eyes. Just one flash before my eyes.
