When she started singing, goosebumps were formed on my arms. It was so beautiful. It was different than most voices and that's what I liked about it. The 3 minutes she was on stage flew by and of course she made it to the next round. Just like me. And I was so happy about it.

*Next week*
"Lauren! Get out of bed! We have to leave in about 20 minutes and you still aren't dressed!" My dad, Mike, yelled from downstairs. I groaned in my pillow and made my way out of bed slowly. I didn't want to be late for my second performance at The X Factor. That would be really embarrassing and stupid.

When I looked in my mirror, I decided to curl my hair, because it was in that awkward stage between straight and curly and I just can't leave it that way. I really hate my hair sometimes, especially in the morning when I just can't get it right. It's so frustrating. But today, I was happy with it. When I was finished with my hair, I went downstairs. I didn't apply any makeup. I didn't feel like it.

I opened the door that lead into the kitchen and took place next to my sister. She started talking about the dream she had and how amazing it was. "Lolo, I had an amazing dream about you. I dreamed about The X Factor and that you were going to win it! You sang this amazing song and dad started crying, because he couldn't hold back the tears any more. But don't worry, he told me that it were happy tears, not sad tears." I smiled at my little sister, Luna. She is 7 years old and she has green eyes. They are like an exact copy of my eyes. In fact, she is an exact copy of me. Except for her hair. It's blonde, but not just one shade. She has like 4 different shades of blonde in her hair and it's very pretty.

"That's great, Luna! I really hope your dream will come true. But if it doesn't, don't be sad, alright?" I asked her sweetly. Luna nodded eagerly and jumped on my lap. She kissed my cheek and wished me good luck at the show. "Luna, come on. We have to go to school now. You don't wanna be late, right?" My mom, Clara, asked. Luna jumped off my lap and made her way towards the door. She waved at me and I wished her a good day at school.

After I finished my delicious scrambled eggs, I tied my shoes and jumped into the car to wait for my dad. I turned the volume up when a song of Demi Lovato started playing. I started singing along, because I know all the lyrics. I love Demi Lovato, she is a great singer.

I got snapped back to reality when the car door got slammed shut and my dad took place in the driver's seat. He drank one last sip from his coffee and started the car. For about 10 minutes, it was silent in the car. It wasn't awkward, but comfortable.
Unfortunately, my dad broke the silence. He was about to say something important, because he always clears his throat very dramatically when something is important and that was just what he was doing right now.

"You know Lauren, when I heard you singing at school last year, I knew you were going to be a big pop star one day. That dream of you will come reality and I know it. Your voice has something special. Many people would kill someone to own such a beautiful and raspy voice like yours." He cleared his throat again. "I didn't think you would grow up so fast. Let alone participate to such a big contest like The X Factor. All of this happened so fast and I'm afraid that I'm going to lose my little girl." He took a small break and talked again. "I just want to say that I'm very, very proud of you, no matter what will happen on that stage today. I will always be there for you and I love you very much." His brown eyes were getting a little watery and I comforted him by putting my hand over his to squeeze it a little.

"Dad, you would never lose me. I'm still your little girl, I'm just not that little any more." I chuckled lightly. "If you weren't there for me at all times, nothing of this was even happening right now. You always told me that I should never be afraid of the things I wanted to do. And I'm not afraid any more." My dad smiled at me and squeezed my hand in the same comforting way I just did. "You always complimented my outfit or told me that my hair looked nice. You always give me little confidence boosts like these. If you hadn't done that all these years, my self confidence would be crap and I definitely wouldn't be standing where I'm standing right now." I smiled at myself when I remembered all the memories. My eyes also started to get a little watery, so I decided to get to the point fast. "I love you dad, don't ever think that you are gonna lose me. Ever" I said while looking straight into his eyes so that he would believe my sincere words.
I wasn't expecting such an emotional car ride today, but I was happy my dad could get it off his chest and that he decided to tell me.
