I had to admit, the guy really knew how to wield a pen.
He instantly disarmed me, moving on to fighting Samirah. (Hey, I could barely hear myself think over Jack singing 'Light 'Em Up'!) Sam snarled, swinging her axe maliciously. "Just give up already, sea scum!" Percy laughed, putting down his sword. "Fine, fine, you win." Percy then rounded on Hearth, who promptly flung a rune from his bag. Percy shook his head. "Nope. No rune stones. You have to learn to fight with a sword." I translated in ASL. Percy spoke with a slight accent, being from New York, and it made it slightly difficult for Hearth to read his lips.
Hearth sighed as I tossed him my sword. Percy went easy on him at first, but after a few minutes, Hearth was disarmed. "This isn't working.. where's Alex?" I said, exasperated. This wasn't even a lesson, it was just Percy disarming us every time we tried to fight. As if on cue, the green-haired girl opened the door and sauntered in. "I heard my name?" Percy grinned. "Great! Another student!" Alex squinted at him. "Student? You're my inferior, Jackson!" The room went quiet, and Alex pulled her garrote from her belt loops. "Come on, man up. Fight me." Percy uncapped Riptide, going into battle stance. I backed away, not eager to be caught in the crossfire of a very angry Alex and a very determined Percy. Percy's eyes locked onto her garrote. "This is a sword-fighting lesson. Put the clay-cutter away." Alex scowled, tossing her garrote to the side. I handed her my sword, trying my best not to seem like a target for possible decapitation via my own weapon.
Alex immediately flew into battle, preventing Percy from disarming her by blocking him with the hilt of her sword. Percy glared, narrowing his eyes. Then Alex shape shifted mid-battle, growing into a wolf. I instinctively backed away, and for good reason. Alex knocked Percy to the ground and shifted back into human form as his sword skidded away from him. Percy was panting, his eyes wide with fear. "Okay, okay. You win."

We filed out of the training room, all thoroughly exhausted. Suddenly, Percy skidded to a halt. Sam, who was behind him, abruptly stopped, the rest of us bumping into the person in front of us. I leaned out of the line, and saw immediately why Percy had halted. Standing on the deck in all his pig-tailed, hammer-wielding glory, was Thor himself, accompanied by his goats Otis and Marvin.
